    Group Lead: Reward, Benefits & Operations

    Key Duties & Responsibilities    

    • Developing and maintaining expertise and knowledge on general and CCBA Total Reward practices and solutions.
    • Staying up to date with market trends in terms of Total Reward practices, trends, and relevant remuneration levels.
    • Researching, evaluating, and proposing specific Total Reward solutions and practices for CCBA to adopt.
    • Keeping informed of all remuneration-linked changes to local legislation in South Africa.
    • Acting as expert and internal consultant in instances where business decisions are being made that requires Total Reward input and support.
    • Establishing a network of external peers that collaborates in knowledge sharing and attending regular Total Reward events and conferences.
    • Analysing data to develop recommendations to close identified gaps, suggest other changes in line with identified needs.
    • Performing any regularly required Group Office and CCBA Total Reward routines.
    • Building capability in-country for the effective management of the Cluster Reward function
    • Providing support to review and manage existing long-term incentive and short-term incentive schemes.
    • Providing group support on the complete Total Reward value chain.
    • Supporting the Group Head Total Reward on researching and proposing Total Reward solutions.
    • Lead and provide support to the Group Office Total Reward audits, vendor agreements and renewals and budget forecasting.
    • Preparing required analyses, reports and presentations to provide Total Reward related information and insights to the Group Head Total Reward and other senior leaders.
    • Contributing ideas and solutions during the process of Group Reward Strategy and vision definition.
    • Supporting with the review of the Group Reward Strategy and presenting recommendations to close gaps and for enhancements
    • Coaching and supporting Country Lead Reward Managers on an ongoing basis to enable the development of skills and knowledge in terms of the effective and efficient execution of the Total Reward Strategy and other Total Reward operations.
    • Collating and maintaining a list of Total Reward projects and initiatives for the year into a plan.
    • Communicating and socialising all planned project with relevant business stakeholders.
    • Creating project plans, communication plans, sourcing and coordinating resources and setting up and launching projects.
    • Analysing business needs and modelling different options and solutions to guide decision making.
    • Support in designing and developing the content for approved Total Reward initiatives.
    • Managing projects to completion and ensuring the deployment and adoption of solutions.
    • Creating progress reports and regularly reporting progress to Group Total Reward Manager other stakeholders.
    • Ensuring that Total Reward schemes, policies and processes are executed in-country and that all practices linked with policies are aligned with requirements.
    • Taking corrective action when work is not progressing to plan or meeting internal best practice standards and governance requirements.  
    • Acting as point of escalation for issues and problems that cannot be resolved by regional Reward team members themselves.
    • Managing governance controls for Group Office in terms of the management, execution, and compliance with Total Reward policies, processes, and practices. 
    • Using the Chart of Authority, stringently managing signatures for applicable signoffs, within the required timelines
    • Assisting in carrying out audits as required and ensuring adherence to audit findings.
    • Monitoring and enforcing legislative, internal governance and ethical compliance and adherences in Group Office.
    • Planning milestones for deliverables and creating a plan that visualises the timeline.
    • Tracking progress against milestone dates and reporting on progress.
    • Managing deviations and escalating roadblocks.
    • Managing project resources assigned to the project and monitoring their progress.
    • Reporting project progress to key stakeholders.
    • Participating in different committees to align Total Reward strategy, activities, and governance requirements.
    • Supporting regular routines with HR colleagues to identify, agree and prioritise business needs and Total Reward Projects.
    • Supporting the Group Total Reward team members and his/her manager to report progress, raise issues and brainstorm solutions. 

    Skills, Experience & Education    
    Qualifications:

    • The minimum qualification required for this job is a postgraduate qualification in Finance, Business Management or Statistics. 
    • Global Remuneration Professional (GRP) certification an advantage.

    Experience:

    • 8+ years’ experience focused on working as a Reward, Remuneration, Compensation and / or Benefits Lead.
    • Needs to have previous work experience for a listed organisation.
