Developing an integrated communications plan to increase brand awareness and recognition, incorporating ATL, PR, Retail Marketing and digital channels.
Implementing Communications plans.
Being a custodian of the ‘Takealot’ brand tone: Ensure it is applied consistently and appropriately across all communications, and that all written copy conforms to minimum standards.
Management of brand tone and accountable for consistent brand communications to our customers throughout the business.
Overseeing the annual communications budget and ensuring its use is fully maximised.
Corporate and Consumer PR and Communications agency direction (Atmosphere) & and media campaign/crisis communication management.
Developing relationships with key media to secure and grow media coverage both online and writing press releases for media.
Monitoring press stories relating to the company and its brand and maximising opportunities for positive PR and playing down any negative PR.
Consulting on Communication Direction for all business development impacting brand.
Collating and analysing current communications and messages and ensuring consistency.
Developing and leading the company’s internal communication strategy.
Leading on the brand strategy for Brand extensions -Marketplace & Private Label – in consultation with Retail Marketing Manager and Divisional Heads.
Communicating brand to internal customers and stakeholders.
Working with the CMO on development and reporting of brand metrics, including brand tracker, NPS in conjunction with Customer Service.
Team management & development accountability (e.g. Brand Manager, Social Media Manager, Marketing Copywriter and a Content Producer).
Creation and development of print and online advertising content, email marketing content, website management and content development, press releases, corporate videos, development of how to videos and marketing collateral.
Managing performance of direct reports: Ensuring your direct reports produce consistently high-quality outputs and ensuring deadlines are met in a timeous fashion.
Ensure quality control in all brand communications: Customer communications, Public Relations, internal communications
Crafting and proof-reading customer facing communications across many channels, including Newsletters, CRM emails, social media channels, onsite marketing communications, etc.
Managing corporate communications requirements for any special projects requiring brand
Qualification & Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification in Communications, Copywriting, English.
A minimum of 5+ years working in Communications, Copywriting / Content Production and/or related Brand management marketing.
Experience in managing external agencies (ATL and PR agencies)
Experience with Corporate and Consumer PR as well as Crisis communication.
Experience in Managing a team for minimum of 5 years
