The Head of Sportsbook Analytics is responsible for leading the end-to-end analytics function for the sportsbook division, driving both commercial performance and player insights to optimise revenue, engagement and product outcomes.
This role oversees the collection, analysis and interpretation of data across all sportsbook operations, including betting trends, player behaviour, odds performance and promotional effectiveness.
By developing predictive models, dashboards and actionable insights, the Head of Analytics enables data-driven decision-making across product, marketing, risk and operations teams, ensuring that the sportsbook division maximises profitability, enhances the player experience and maintains compliance with regulatory and responsible gambling requirements.
Develop and execute the analytics strategy specific to sports betting, including odds optimisation, market analysis and product performance
Provide actionable insights to optimise betting margins, customer engagement and retention
Partner with the Head of Sportsbook to provide actionable insights that drive commercial performance, including revenue growth, margin optimisation and customer engagement
Support pricing, promotions, and portfolio management with robust analytics
Develop dashboards, KPIs, and reports that track sportsbook performance and highlight opportunities for growth
Lead initiatives to leverage data for risk management, fraud detection and responsible gambling practices
Lead the development of predictive models for odds setting, in-play betting, player lifetime value, churn prediction, product performance etc and cross-sell/up-sell opportunities
Analyse player behaviour patterns, betting trends and market dynamics to inform product development and marketing strategies
Monitor key performance indicators, including betting volume, odds accuracy, revenue and customer engagement
Work closely with product, risk, marketing and operations teams to align analytics with business goals
Evaluate ROI of campaigns, promotions and product changes, providing clear recommendations
Ensure analytics processes comply with regulatory standards and responsible gambling frameworks
Maintain data integrity, accuracy and security across all betting analytics initiatives
Requirements
B Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Economics, Computer Science or related quantitative field
Data/analytics certifications; SAS, CAP, Python, R advantageous
7+ years’ relevant experience in analytics, data science or related field
Demonstrable experience in predictive modelling, customer segmentation, LTV modelling, churn prediction and revenue optimisation
Strong experience with SQL, Python, R, and BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI
Experience building data pipelines, dashboards, and KPI tracking systems to support commercial decision-making
