    HR Business Partner

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    The successful incumbent will be responsible for partnering with the business to ensure HR practices align with business operations and objectives, positioning people as the key enabler for delivering the business strategy.

    Duties will include the following:

    • Collaborate with business leadership and stakeholders to understand operational impacts, key employee-related trends/issues and offer proactive HR solutions
    • Act as a liaison between HR hubs and the business, ensuring effective communication and coordination between the two
    • Collaborate with department heads to develop recruitment plans, identify training needs, and provide coaching support for continuous learning
    • Ensure compliance with legislative requirements, offering professional counselling for HR matters
    • Identify and address training needs aligned with business objectives, supporting succession planning, and coordinating training and development efforts
    • Coordinate employee surveys, analyze results, and provide actionable feedback for wellness initiatives
    • Implement optional elements of global Employee Development policy, support talent reviews and documentation, and manage HR matters for young talent
    • Support employees in applying global compensation policies, including adherence to BASF guidelines, job grading, and effective performance management
    • Streamline recruitment processes for fair and timely hiring, considering the EE Plan, while guiding managers on talent agenda ownership, development, succession planning, and diversity
    • Ensure accurate HR data, timely headcount reporting, efficient admin functions, and active participation in BASF's BBBEE Strategy and EE committee

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor's degree in business administration/human resources or an equivalent qualification
    • Minimum of 5 years' experience as a HR Business Partner, specializing in HR capability building
    • Demonstrate expertise in engaging groups, facilitating sessions, and driving organizational change
    • Possess a thorough understanding of relevant in-country legislation such as SA – COIDA, BCEA, LRA, EEA, Skills Dev Act, UIF, etc.
    • Have a background in organizational development and the ability to effectively engage with leaders
    • Benefit from exposure to a unionized environment, providing an added advantage
