    Human Resources Generalist - Corporate Services - Gqeberha - Permanent - Grade C4

    DESCRIPTION
    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    The primary objective of the HR Generalist is to ensure the execution of HR strategic projects and priorities linked to the organizational strategy. The incumbent will work closely with the Unit Head HR and partner with the Organisation to execute the CDC’s objectives.

    • Conduct employee onboarding to ensure effective and efficient integration of newly acquired talent in the organisation.
    • Promote HR programs to create an efficient and conducive operating environment.
    • Collaborate with the performance and talent management function to organise integrated implementation of talent initiatives.
    • Drive and assist the development and implementation of human resource management policies to ensure a dynamic and progressive operational environment.
    • Gather and analyse data using relevant HR metrics to build and promote business intelligence on human capital management to enhance organizational decision making
    • Drive workforce planning in accordance with the policies and procedures of the organisation to ensure that the human capital needs of the business are timely met
    • Ensure that employee records are properly maintained and updated in compliance with the recruitment management policy and relevant legislative prescripts.
    • Maintain and update the job description catalogue to align with developments and changes in employee roles.
    • Process stakeholder queries and respond in a timely manner.
    • Ensure that timelines are met for all reporting and compliance requirements in the HR function.
    • Collaborate with legal services to ensure effective and efficient execution of the disciplinary management procedure of the organization and to promoted a conducive employee relations environment
    • Facilitate change management processes to enable effective and sustainable adoption and implementation of organizational decisions.
    • Keep abreast of changes and amendments in labor legislation and ensure compliance of the relevant functions and policies in HR.
    • Implement key Human resources projects and programmes aimed at achieving organizational objectives.

    Furthermore, the incumbent has to be aware that:

    • You are aware of and have access to the CDC’s SHEMS;
    • You are aware of your responsibilities and duties as laid out in the CDC’s SHEMS;
    • You are aware that you work in a safe and environmentally friendly manner;
    • You ensure that the company’s housekeeping standards are maintained throughout your area of responsibility;
    • You report any unsafe conditions or acts which you cannot rectify yourself to your SHE representative or to the Senior SHE Project Manager as soon as possible;
    • You report all SHE incidents which occur within your area of responsibility promptly and in the correct format;
    • You are totally familiar with your responsibilities in terms of the CDC’s emergency plan;
    • You communicate to the Senior SHE Project Manager any required changes to the SHEMS prior to implementing these changes;
    • You timeously complete and correctly record any corrective action which needs to be taken in order to rectify a SHE matter;
    • You give full co-operation to, and participate in (as required), the CDC’s internal and external SHEMS audits.

    You have the authority to:

    • Immediately stop any person(s) on CDC property from committing an unsafe or destructive act or omission;
    • Take whatever immediate steps you deem necessary to prevent injury or environmental damage when confronted with an unsafe or destructive condition.

    COMPETENCIES AND REQUIREMENTS

    • Advanced Diploma/Degree (NQF level 7) in Human Resources Management or relevant field;
    • A minimum of 7 years work experience as a HR Generalist , with exposure to the entire Human Resources Value Chain;
    • Demonstrated experience with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), like SAPS or Oracle;
    • Intermediary and or Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills;
    • Knowledge of Various Human Resources concepts and their application in a work environment;
    • Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of labour legislation and other HR related process and procedures;
    • Project Management and report writing skills;
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
    • Excellent collaborative, interpersonal and problem-solving abilities;
    • Ability to engage at all levels within Team and organization.
