IT Manager at Hire Resolve

The Role Overview: 

• The IT Manager will be responsible for defining and executing the enterprise IT strategy that supports the company’s corporate, commercial, and operational functions.

This is a hands-on, strategic IT leadership role with full accountability for the organisation’s IT environment, including:

• Enterprise applications
• IT infrastructure and cloud platforms
• Microsoft 365 and identity
• Data governance
• Cybersecurity
• IT service delivery
• IT strategy and governance
• Technology integrations and automation
• The successful candidate will initially be the sole IT resource within the organisation, with responsibility for establishing the IT function and subsequently building and managing a growing IT team.

Responsibilities: 

• Define and execute a 3–5-year enterprise IT strategy.
• Align the IT roadmap with corporate, commercial and operational objectives.
• Establish IT governance frameworks aligned with ISO, ITIL and industry best practices.
• Act as the custodian of enterprise architecture, technology standards and IT policies.
• Develop and maintain technology roadmaps and infrastructure plans.
• Ensure IT investments support business growth and operational efficiency.
• Own the end-to-end lifecycle of enterprise applications, from implementation through to optimisation and retirement.
• Manage and optimise integrations between:
• ServiceNow
• Sage 300
• Microsoft 365 / Google Workspace
• Microsoft Azure
• Drive automation and digitisation of business processes.
• Ensure data consistency, integrity and appropriate governance across enterprise systems.
• Identify opportunities to improve business processes through technology.

Microsoft: 

• Lead the organisation's transition from Google Workspace to Microsoft 365.
• Develop and execute the Microsoft 365 implementation and migration strategy.
• Take ownership of the full Microsoft 365 lifecycle, including implementation, administration, security, governance and optimisation.
• Ensure Microsoft 365 is fully integrated with the organisation's wider IT environment.
• Manage Microsoft 365 identity, security, collaboration and productivity services.
• Establish appropriate Microsoft 365 governance, policies and access controls.

Azure: 

• Architect, implement and manage enterprise workloads within Microsoft Azure.
• Manage Azure virtual machines, application hosting and cloud infrastructure.
• Manage identity and access through Microsoft Entra ID.
• Ensure secure connectivity between cloud and enterprise services.
• Implement high availability, resilience and disaster recovery capabilities.
• Monitor and optimise cloud performance, scalability and costs.
• Maintain secure, reliable and scalable infrastructure.

Operations and Delivery: 

• Take full ownership of enterprise IT service delivery across all business units.
• Establish and maintain SLAs and OLAs.
• Implement and govern incident, problem and change management processes through ServiceNow.
• Ensure a consistent and reliable end-user experience.
• Oversee endpoints, collaboration platforms, user support and IT operations.
• Establish appropriate IT processes, procedures and documentation.
• Ensure business-critical systems remain available and operational.

Cybersecurity: 

• Define and implement the enterprise cybersecurity strategy.
• Manage and improve:
• Identity and access management
• Endpoint security
• Cloud security
• Data protection
• Security governance
• Ensure compliance with POPIA, internal security policies and applicable industry standards.
• Drive security practices aligned with ISO 27001 principles.
• Identify and mitigate IT and cybersecurity risks.
• Establish appropriate security policies, controls and monitoring processes.

Team Development and Leadership: 

• Initially operate as the sole IT professional, taking full ownership of the organisation's IT environment.
• Establish the IT operating model, processes and standards required to support future growth.
• Develop the IT function as the organisation expands.
• Recruit, mentor and manage additional IT resources as the team grows.
• Provide technical leadership and establish clear responsibilities across the IT function.
• Balance hands-on technical delivery with strategic IT management.

Requirements: 

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• 5–10 years' experience within IT.
• Previous experience within the Telecommunications, Connectivity or ICT industry is essential.
• Demonstrated experience managing an organisation's IT environment end-to-end.
• Strong combination of technical hands-on experience and IT management capability.
• Experience establishing or developing an IT function is highly advantageous.
• Experience managing or mentoring IT teams, with the ability to build and scale a team.
