Junior Legal and Compliance Officer at Munich Re

Your Job:

You will join a team of Legal and Compliance experts for a period of six months on a fixed-term contract. Reporting to the Head of Legal & Compliance, you will be responsible for all Legal and Compliance tasks across MRoA such as:

• Conducting Legal reviews of agreements and wordings.
• Drafting standard templates of agreements and updating the templates from time to time.
• Providing Legal advice on areas specific to insurance and reinsurance.
• Writing Legal opinions for topics raised by the business.
• Assessing Legal regulatory changes on the day-to-day activities of MRoA.
• Conducting end to end Compliance monitoring.
• Completing Compliance reporting.
• Updating Legal and Compliance Policies.
• Identifying opportunities to assist the business timeously, efficiently and in an effective manner.
• Attending to and participating in Legal and Compliance risk assessments.
• Attending to Legal and Compliance queries.
• Assisting with the BEE verification tasks that Legal and Compliance remain responsible for.
• Attending to all Data Protection queries.

Your Profile:

• University degree LLB.
• Admitted Attorney.
• 12 to 18 months post-admission experience required.
• Experience in the financial services industry, general insurance or reinsurance would be advantageous.
• Attention to detail required.
• Sound analytical skills.
• Strong organisation skills.
• Excellent communication skills and presentation (written and verbal).
• Strong teamwork skills.
• Good communication skills, strong interpersonal skills and willingness to share knowledge within the team.
• High level of commitment and ability to work under pressure.
• Solution-oriented with a proactive, efficient and independent work style.
• Fluent in English.
