    Laundry Attendant

    Job Advert Summary    

    • Responsible for sorting, washing, pressing and folding guest laundry, hotel linen & other textile articles within the hotel laundry space. Duties also include textile handling, taking full responsibility of the space & the linen room when on shift. You may also be required to assist the housekeeping department with cleaning duties, room checks & other adhoc duties.

    Duties and Responsibilities    
    Policies,equipment&laundryingeneral

    • Ensure that all company policies, procedures & SOPs are adhered to
    • Receives & return all guest laundry in accordance with procedures
    • Maintain and clean laundry equipment and storage facilities
    • Ensure that linen storerooms & work area is always neat & tidy and that the operation equipment is in working order
    • Report any equipment issues to the Exec Housekeeper, Supervisor and/or Maintenance Manager for repairs & checks needed

    Linen&GuestSuppliesIssuing&Control

    • Ensure that correct & clean supplies of linen is issued to Room Attendants, timeously per procedure in return of soiled stripped
    • Ensure linen quality is frequently checked, issued, maintained & returned
    • Sort, count & record the amount of soiled linen returned from rooms & sent to outsourced laundry.
    • Count & record linen received from the outsourced laundry and ensure shortages & damages are reported
    • Count & record received linen ordered & deliveries from Linen Report any discrepancies or notables.
    • Assist Linen Controller & Housekeeping Supervisors in issuing amenities & guest supplies daily
    • Assist Linen Controller & Housekeeping Supervisors in doing accurate stock counts for all OE, Linen & amenities

    Staff Unforms

    • Control the issue of staff uniforms, their dry clean & return. And also issuing them back to the respective staff

    Heath,Safety & Chemical Handling

    • Ensure health & safety rules / measures are followed within the laundry Including chemical handling, fire hazards & reporting any concerns to the Hotel Security Manager, Maintenance Manager and/or Housekeeping Management

    Other&General

    • Ensure that complete guest satisfaction is maintained in all areas of Housekeeping
    • Attend to service request calls that come through housekeeping & departmental groups, at the earliest of convenience ensuring utmost guest satisfaction
    • Maintain highest standard of hygiene within the property
    • Any other adhoc duties that may be required
    • Giving senior management feedback on any issues that you come across with suppliers (outsource laundry, machinery, chemical suppliers etc)
    • Assisting with room checks & room attendants supervisory when needed
