Lecturer in Anthropology at University of Pretoria/Universiteit van Pretoria

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Teaching and curriculum development at both undergraduate and postgraduate level in Social Anthropology;
• The supervision of postgraduate students;
• Research at an internationally competitive level;
• Academic administration and other duties as determined by the Head of Department; 
• Participation in the Department’s strategic initiatives relating to teaching, research, community engagement, and fundraising.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• A doctoral degree in Social Anthropology, or significant progress towards completion of the doctoral degree;
• Peer-reviewed publications in accredited journals;
• Evidence of Honours student supervision;     
• Evidence of teaching experience at tertiary level.
