Multi-media Designer at Capitec Bank

Purpose Statement

• The Multimedia Designer – Social Media is responsible for creating visually impactful, on-brand content for Capitec’s social platforms. This includes static posts, motion graphics, stories, reels, carousels, templates, and interactive content. The role combines strong visual storytelling with an understanding of platform mechanics, creating content that grabs attention, builds connection, and drives engagement 

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in experience in social media design or digital content creation
• Strong portfolio of social-first work, including motion content
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects) and Figma 
• Strong design sense and attention to detail
• Confident working with brand systems in fast-paced environments
• Motion design and animation skills a strong advantage
• Essential: Creativity, agility, platform awareness, teamwork
• Desirable: Experience using content scheduling platforms, social media metrics tools 

Qualifications (Minimum)

• A relevant tertiary qualification in Design
• Grade 12 National Certificate / Vocational

Qualifications (Ideal or Preferred)
Knowledge
Detailed knowledge in:

• Sketch digital design software
• Prototyping using InVision or something similar
• Understanding of Agile Practices
• A thorough understanding of simplified user-centered design methodologies is a must.

Beneficial:

• Knowledge of psychology and/or anthropology as it pertains to CX/UX principles.
