    Network Deployment Technician, Global Network Delivery, AWS, Global Network Deployment

    Key job responsibilities

    • This Network Technician role supports capacity scaling across multiple data center locations. You will partner with internal customers and external vendors to facilitate smooth project execution as directed by Technical Program Managers.
    • Manage work and priorities through ticketing system
    • Managing small to large cabling projects within the data centers.
    • Collaborate with various stakeholders to remove project obstacles
    • Troubleshoot networking, routing and inter connectivity issues, including troubleshooting of network device configuration and low to mid-level application interaction
    • Troubleshooting cabling infrastructure connectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cords.
    • Participate in the migration, basic configuration and rollout of new or upgraded hardware
    • Experience dealing with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure.
    • Strong prioritization and time management ability.
    • Able to lift/move up to 15kg regularly with 2 persons or equipment support
    • Work closely with our Network Engineering, Network Technical Project Manager teams and Third Party vendors to ensure fast, smooth rollout of established designs and products.
    • Ability to travel within geographical work area is required, some travel outside traditional work area may be requested**

    A day in the life

    • You will be responsible for the scaling and physical deployment of new data center network infrastructure. As part of that team, the Network Scaling Lead will be primarily tasked with managing small to large cabling projects and deployment activities within the data centers. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, highly motivated individual with a willingness to learn and up-skill.
    • The candidate must be able to perform repetitive tasks and adhere to standard processes and best practices. Candidates will be working in a team environment and must be able to communicate and promote cross-team functionality.

    Basic Qualifications

    • Knowledge of TCP/IP networks
    • Knowledge of fiber optic and copper cabling standards, testing equipment and troubleshooting methodologies
    • Bachelor's degree in information technology or computer science

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure
    • Strong understanding of major Command Line Protocols (Cisco IOS, JunOS, etc.) and common Networking Protocols (BGP, OSPF).
    • Experience working in virtualized enterprise networking environments, Professional experience with IT best practice frameworks (ITIL, LEAN, AGILE) and Operational Excellence concepts or methodologies is a plus.
