PMU/ Capital Projects & GIS Engineering Technician X1 at Gamagara Local Municipality

Requirements:

• National Diploma in Civil Engineering or B. Tech or Project Management

Qualification -

• NQF Level 6/ 7. Professional Registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa will be an added advantage; Code B driver’s license; Minimum of 2-5 years’ experience in project management; Proficiency in MS Office applications; Excellent organizational and administrative skills; Excellent analytic and problem-solving ability; High level of integrity, responsibility and confidentiality; Have ability to give attention to detail and be able to work under pressure; Report writing; Communication Skills; Ability to deal with conflict situations; Excellent Negotiation skills.

Duties:

• Assist with the planning, budgeting, implementation and monitoring of municipal capital projects. / Compile business plans, implementation plans and statutory reports for MIG, INEP, WSIG, RBIG, SLP and other infrastructure funding programmes. / Monitor project budgets, expenditure, progress, performance and payment schedules. / Prepare and administer tender and contract documentation. / Conduct site inspections and monitor contractors, consultants, quality and contractual compliance. / Verify completed work, payment certificates and project completion documentation. / Coordinate technical, project steering and stakeholder meetings. Liaise with funding institutions, government departments, municipal officials, contractors and communities. / Identify and report technical, financial and contractual deviations. / Maintain project and GIS records and respond to project-related enquiries.
