    Principal Clerk (Mobile Unit) - Durban

    Job Purpose    

    • Applies customer care principles to provide information and guide understanding of consumers and the general public on a wide range of municipal services and procedural requirements.

    Key Responsibility Areas    

    • Attends to queries/enquiries and makes information available on a broad range of municipal services and service delivery processes (e.g. town planning, engineering, community, financial, etc).
    • Receives payment against services rendered from the Public.
    • Attends to customer requests for the reservation of municipal facilities or service delivery related issues.
    • Processes information and collates and checks documentation for submission to relevant departments in respects of applications, claims or other related submissions.
    • Prepares activity related reports on the status and attends to recordkeeping requirements.
    • Assumes responsibility for driving and maintenance of the Mobile Unit.

    Essential Requirements    

    • Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) or equivalent.
    • Valid motor vehicle driving license.
    • Valid Public Drivers Permit (PDP).
    • 2 years relevant experience.
    • Computer Literacy.

    Preferred Requirements    

    • Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) and an Administrative Certificate.
    • 3 Years relevant experience.

    Special Conditions:

    • The ability to communicate and comprehend in specific official languages (IsiZulu and English) as
    • specified by the Department on appointment.
    • Physical Requirements:
    • Individual to be physical fit to drive the mobile unit and carry associated equipment.
