Principal Draughtsperson (Fire Protection) at RPO Recruitment

Job Description

• RPO Recruitment's client, an established fire protection company is seeking a detail-oriented Fire Draughtsperson to join its team in Cape Town.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and update fire protection system designs and construction drawings.
• Develop and coordinate drawings using Revit and BIM workflows.
• Assist with bills of materials and technical documentation for quotations.
• Liaise with designers, engineers, project managers and site teams.
• Conduct site visits and update drawings to reflect completed installations.
• Ensure drawings comply with project specifications and applicable industry standards.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2–3 years’ draughting experience, preferably within fire protection or a construction engineering environment.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit, with practical BIM experience required.
• Experience with Navisworks and Canute will be advantageous.
• Ability to produce accurate 2D and 3D drawings, construction plans and as-built drawings.
• Understanding of fire sprinkler systems, hydraulic calculations and relevant industry standards will be beneficial.
• Good communication, organisational and computer skills.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
• Valid Code B driver’s licence.
