Product Specialist - South Deep at Epiroc

Mission

• This position is to promote the technical support and communication flow, technical service and competence of the BEV machines within Epiroc and Customers.
• To ensure Customer Satisfaction, through the cognizance of machine performance, and availability, including operating costs, and the safety of employees as well as the efficiency of labour.

Main Responsibilities 

• Technical Support for all customers in your area of responsibility as assigned by your manager.
• Underground and Site visits
• Conduct regular machine audits on all equipment in your area
• Deploy field service and service technicians in your area of responsibility when orders are raised by customers
• Follow-up (expediting) of audits and orders for technicians
• Conduct operator and maintenance training as and when required
• Troubleshooting and technical assistance 
• Service schedules for all vehicles in your area
• Build strong relationships with our customers
• Expected to assist in other areas / divisions in the Company when needed
• Communications within different departments
• Assist Workshop with compiling quotes for repair and rebuild work
• Be prepared to work outside normal working hours in emergency or breakdown situations.
• Commissioning of machines 
• Pre-delivery service, some in workshop and on site
• Commissioning of equipment - surface and underground
• Implementation and monitoring of new technologies in area of responsibility
• Weekly status reports
• Suggested improvements to Epiroc and customers
• Record keeping of implementation process with suggested improvements
• Reports on all site visits to clients and manager
• Customer activity / prospects
• Customer problems
• Communication with your office, on an ongoing basis, of your movements
• Monthly Utilisation must be above 85%

• Very strong technical background
• Computer literacy
• Good customer relations
• Good telephone manners and skills
• Good product knowledge
• Interpersonal skills to work with customers and suppliers and to work as part of the Technical Support team
• Selling technical skills
• Be able to work independently without supervision
• Be presentable to customers in grooming and dress code

Educational Qualification:

• Grade 12
• Technical qualification (Trade Test)
• Experience on underground TMM equipment.
• Extensive travel will be the order of the day and one would be required to spend most of their time in the field.
• This position will also require the individual to work underground.
