    Programme Accreditations Coordinator

    The Programme Accreditation Coordinator works in close partnership with the office of the Academic Dean, subject matter and industry experts, and collaboratively with other institutional departments. The Programme Accreditation Coordinator will be responsible for the following areas:

    New Programme Feasibility/Exploratory Research

    • Conducts research on the feasibility and viability of new programme applications.
    • Communicates with key stakeholders to verify that all projects and tasks are on schedule and are completed within the set timeframes.
    • Prepares and presents proposal documents that demonstrate the feasibility of new programmes, recommendations and future opportunities.
    • Forms good working relationships with various key stakeholders throughout the organisation.

    New Programme Accreditation

    Overall administration and coordination of new programme accreditation projects including the initiation, planning, executing, monitoring and closing of new programme accreditation projects across various disciplines. 

    • Oversight of new programme design, development, and application processes until qualifications are accredited (CHE) and registered (SAQA and DHET). This includes professional bodies where relevant.
    • Creating a comprehensive project plan for new programme applications across disciplines. 
    • Creating and monitoring the project schedule, prioritizing and sequencing time frames associated with changing elements of new programme application projects. 
    • Administration of the work of the subject matter/industry experts, as well as providing guidance on regulatory requirements regarding curricula in the design and development phase of new programme accreditation. 
    • Writing the programme applications and ensuring they are ready for submission

    Programme Collation and Submission 

    Administering the CHE/HEQF programme application: 

    • Stays abreast of all aspects of the regulatory submission processes.
    • Provides guidance and assists in preparing programme designs and modules for programme applications based on subject expertise.
    • Generates, reviews and collates up-to-date documents timeously and with precision as supporting evidence in an application in preparation for upload.  
    • Editing and proofing documents developed by subject matter/industry experts, and programme designers. 
    • Identifies where the gaps in information are, highlights and resolves these. 
    • Prepares all folders for new programme applications.
    • Drafts and administrates regulatory communication as needed.

    General:

    • Report generation; Presentations; Conduct desk research and potentially market research; Attend workshops, conferences etc.

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

    • Minimum of a Master’s degree
    • Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in Higher Education with experience in new programme application development and submission a requirement.
    • Depth and breadth of experience in regulatory management, quality assurance, learning design and curriculum development advantageous.
    • Furthermore, experience in online/distance higher education is an added advantage.
