Project Executive - Durban at eThekwini Municipality

Job Purpose    

• To provide a strategic professional and specialist service on project implementation, monitoring and evaluation for the Deputy City Manager's office and its functions.

Key Responsibility Areas    

•  Formulates a strategic business case to support the alignment of the Cluster with current and future economic   trends, in alignment with the Citys IDP.
•  Plans and coordinates the budget estimates and monitoring expenditure against approved budgets.
•  Plans and controls the procurement management functions.
•  Provides professional expertise in the performance of the Cluster.
•  Directs critical processes associated with the development of programmes and projects for the sustainability of   interventions.
•  Interacts internally and externally disseminating technical and professional information with recommendations,   solutions and alternatives on proposed and current projects and activities of the Cluster.
•  Prepares management reports inclusive of business case proposals and, interim consolidated reports on the   functions, performance and contribution of the functionality.

Essential Requirements    

• BCom (NQF Level 7) in Accounting with Financial Accounting as a major subject or equivalent.
• Project Management certificate
• Must be in a possession of National Treasury MFMA minimum competency qualification (NQF Level 6)

OR

• Must obtain a National Treasury MFMA minimum competency qualification (NQF
• Level 6) within 18 months of the date of appointment.
• Valid motor vehicle driving license.
• 6 Years relevant experience.
• Computer Literacy.

Preferred Requirements    

• Post graduate qualification (NQF Level 8) in Accounting with Financial Accounting as a major subject or equivalent.
• 8 Years relevant experience.
