Applicant must display competency in the post-specific functions of the post;
Be in possession of a Senior Certificate (Grade 12);
Be proficient in at least two official languages, of which one must be English;
Must be a SA citizen;
Must have no criminal record or pending criminal/ department cases;
Computer Literacy;
Interpersonal, communication and Organizational Skills.
Analytical, Self-Management and Problem-Solving Skills;
Report Writing, presentation, development skills;
Be in possession of at least a valid light driver’s license;
Applicants will be subjected to a vetting process which will include security screening and fingerprint verification;
Applicants must be willing to travel extensively;
Relevant courses in the field of the post may be an advantage
Must not have visible tattoos when wearing SAPS uniform;
Successful candidate must be willing to travel and attend courses when required.
Additional Requirements:
Applicants must be in possession of a relevant Honors / Masters’ degree in Psychology, SAQA Accredited on NQF Level 7 or higher level;
Proof of Academic Record of qualification/s from recognized institution (SAQA accredited);
Registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa as a Registered Counsellor or Psychometrist or Psychologist and must submit proof of valid registration for 2024/2025;
Experience in the field of the post as a Registered Counsellor / Psychometrist will be an added advantage.
Core Functions:
Rendering of psychologically-related interventions: (e.g. Counselling, Psychotherapy, Trauma & Suicide);
Ensure the rendering of a professional, integrated service by Employee Health and Wellness to SAPS employees;
Improve the mental well-being of members by providing psychological, emotional, personal and work- interventions;
Work in a multi-disciplinary Employee Health and Wellness Team;
Assist in Psychometric testing;
Assist in conducting Organizational Diagnosis and team building initiatives;
Management of projects and mental health related initiatives.
Marketing of Psychological services;
Assist with the facilitation of Assessment Centers; \
Management of human, physical and financial resources;
Assist in the development of Organizational Norms, Standards and Procedures;
