    Regional Sales Manager - Underground

    Job Description

    • Provide topline and bottom-line profitability targets in terms of financial objectives.
    • Manage local market contribution in supporting of the peripheral services in the region.
    • Manage Working capital, i.e. receivables in line with objectives / Inventory levels.
    • Manage obsolescence in terms of minimizing slow moving stock inventory.
    • Introduction of new products into market and product performance development in the Region.
    • Ensure that every product line is given optimal exposure within the market.
    • Align pricing strategies to the market and apply value add selling and competitor pricing intelligence, within territory management principles.
    • Close contact customer relations to be maintained within the long-term company development and capital expenditure.
    • Analysis of business areas within mining market, ensure that forward planning is maintained with regards to mining activities and that we are one step ahead. 
    • Competitor analysis in terms of market share and product development and new trends.
    • Create the ability to forecast and plan for future market demands via forecasting tools and divisional requirements as per UMR supply chain initiatives.
    • Analyze actual performance against planned objectives.
    • Report on variances and implement corrective actions/procedures.
    • Monthly reporting and follow up reviews with Divisional management.
    • To manage, motivate and develop the UMR team and observe the company’s policy of skills development and equal opportunities in employment equity under the company’s goal in maintaining BBBEE status.
    • Take into consideration the local regulations and legislation and come up with solutions to achieve sustainability for the business.
    • Look for opportunities for acquisitions to enable the company growth strategy.

    Education and Experience

    • Grade 12 qualification with a relevant Mining Engineering or Business degree in the mining industry.
    • Business acumen.
    • MBA / Degree in Mining would be beneficial.
    • A minimum experience of 10 years post qualification in a mining or management role, specifically in the mining and construction
    • Proficient in English and computer skills
    • Background in mining sales and people management

    Knowledge and Skills

    • Has a good level of knowledge of the construction and mining industry especially in the Southern African region.
    • A proven track record of increasing revenues and market share whilst controlling costs.
    • Excellent Leadership and People Management Skills.
    • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
    • Is able to build strong & effective working relationships with customers and colleagues.
    • Fluent in English.
    • A good working knowledge of M/S Office.
    • Networking
