    Retail Leasing Intern

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

    1. Assisting with the following on Broking:

    • Makes presentations to prospective clients as requested.
    • Prospects for new leases and seeks opportunities to increase existing ones. Conducts regular site (Mall) visits and make use of online platforms for research.
    • Follow up’s on outstanding documents and feedback on all outstanding items.
    • Familiarising yourself with development plans, retail stats, lease agreements, mandates etc.
    • Ensures that clients are satisfied with Company services.
    • Obtains clients feedback and continually works to improve services.
    • Resolves clients requests, complaints, and problems.
    • Promotes goodwill and conveys a positive image of the Company.
    • Promotes services at trade shows.
    • Tracks progress toward goals.
    • Keeps management informed of area activities, changes in competitive conditions, and significant problems.
    • Completes required reports and records accurately and promptly
    • Attends meetings as required.
    • Completes special projects.
    • Provides backup for other Brokers as needed.
    • Sources vacant space
    • Updating of client and tenant database.
    • Completing reports and documents.

    2. Assisting with the following on Leasing Admin:

    • Typing / preparing proposals / Offers / Lease Agreements
    • Updating Income Schedules
    • Updating Vacancy Schedules
    • Communicate with Architects to update plans
    • Prepares requests for invoices
    • Maintain files
    • Completes accounting functions in accordance with established policies and procedures.
    • Send and collect applications forms and relevant documents (FICA)
    • Follow up on outstanding proposals / offers and leases
    • Prepares, cancels and amends Lease Agreements, Addendums, Suretyships etc.
    • Maintains regular contact with other departments to obtain information and/or to correct transactions.
    • Attends and participates in meetings.

    EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

    • Post Graduate. Preferably in property studies, but other fields will be considered

    REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:

    • Understanding of the internet
    • Understanding of spreadsheets (excel) and word applications
    • Computer Literate / email
