    Salvage Claims Technician

    Role Purpose    

    • To manage a portfolio of salvage matters (motor and non-motor) with salvage service providers and assisting the claims department in finalising all salvage matters.

    Requirements    

    • Matric
    • Experience in Short-term insurance environment
    • 60 FAIS Credits
    • Computer literacy(MS Word, Outlook and Excel)
    • Insurance qualification preferable
    • RE qualification
    • Intensive knowledge of claims and salvage environment
    • Knowledge in administering and handling salvage
    • At least 2 years experience in a claims and salvage environment 

    Duties & Responsibilities    

    • Day to day reporting to the Team Leader
    • Handling salvage claims in accordance with salvage handling procedures and the SAIA code of conduct
    • Facilitating and managing salvage with external service providers and salvage companies
    • Handling and settling claims within stipulated time frames and as per SLAs / mandates in place
    • Negotiating with salvage service providers
    • Providing technical advice on salvage matters to the claims department
    • Providing clients / brokers with the highest standard of service
    • Providing clients / brokers with feedback on claims progress at all times
    • Ensuring diary system is implemented and adhered to at all times
    • Ensuring adherence to SLAs / mandates in place with regards to claims from mandated brokers
    • Rendering of assistance from time to time with ad hoc tasks
    • Updating salvage register
    • Handling of NATIS documents as per the guidelines set out in the SAIA code of conduct
    • Record keeping of all salvage matters
    • Capturing of data on the UNICODE system
    • Arranging for the collection and delivery of vehicles to salvage yards
    • Appointing external service providers to assist with salvage
    • Appointing Service Provider to uplift Stolen vehicles.
    • Communicating with the SAP on stolen and recovered vehicles
    • Circulating stolen/recovered vehicles on UNICODE
    • Communicating with SAICB on claims
    • Cross Border recoveries
