Senior Data Engineer at Hire Resolve

Overview

• This role is suited to a senior-level engineer with strong backend development expertise and exposure to high-volume, transactional systems. You’ll play a key role in building, enhancing, and maintaining scalable systems, while contributing to architectural decisions, mentoring team members, and improving engineering practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead technical integration of new clients into existing platforms
• Design, develop, and implement new system functionality
• Enhance and optimise current system features and performance
• Conduct development testing, debugging, and ongoing maintenance
• Provide 3rd line support and resolve complex technical queries
• Ensure system security, compliance, and audit readiness
• Drive improvements in development processes, tooling, and standards
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to team leadership

Core Requirements

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Software Development, Computer Science, or Engineering
• 8+ years’ experience in software development (backend-focused)
• Strong experience with:
• Java (Standard & Enterprise Editions)
• Spring Boot
• SQL (MS SQL Server / PostgreSQL)
• Solid understanding of development workflows and tools:
• Git
• Maven
• Eclipse / NetBeans
• Experience working in CI/CD and automated testing environments
• Exposure to API development and integration (OpenAPI or similar)

Advantageous Experience

• Financial services or payment processing systems
• High-volume, real-time, multi-threaded system environments
• Postilion (source/sink node development)
• Agile methodologies (Scrum / Kanban)
• Frontend development exposure (Angular)
