    Senior Demand Planner

    Job Description    

    • A specialist role, managing the systems and processes to drive the understanding of market demands and trends, integrating this with business goals and needs and providing input into market strategies. Managing product portfolio and getting best pack, price & channel mix to drive profitable volume growth.
    • The role will report to the S&OP Manager, that reports into Strategy & Performance to ensure that the business IBP / S&OP process delivers a true bottom-up Demand Plan, enabling the business to manage planning Assumptions, Vulnerabilities & Opportunities and aligning consensus demand plans over all the different the different planning horizons (from operational planning, tactical / medium-term and long-term planning) to ensure the business delivers the desired customer service levels at optimum total cost to serve.
    • Accountable to deliver all Demand Planning routines required with the Commercial Functions as the primary internal Customer. The Senior Demand will also engage other key stakeholders such as such as KO, CPS & MEC to update and deliver the weekly and monthly consensus demand plans. The role will also create and maintain collaborative demand plans needed for both Key or Focussed Supplier and Customer demand collaboration to improve the visibility for Suppliers from better understanding the bottom-up plans from a Customer view.

    Key Duties & Responsibilities    

    •  The role will manage the Demand Planning process for CCBA-SA and ensure all policies, procedures and systems are fully adhered to.
    •  Even though the Demand Planner do not report directly to the Senior Demand Planner, the Senior Demand Planner will oversee the Demand Planning Process as the functional expert.
    •  Lead continuous improvement within function and share Best Practice with regards to Demand Planning with Supply Chain, Sales & Marketing.
    • Describe the level of interaction within and outside of the company as well as the nature and purpose of the interaction.
    •  The Senior Demand Planner will play a critical role to ensure that the Demand Planning process, including Product Portfolio Review processes are followed to deliver one integrated volume and revenue plan.
    •  Demand planning is the start of the planning process and will liaise with the rest of the Operational Planning roles across the business to deliver optimal plans.
    •  Regular interaction across all levels of the Commercial functions (NARTD Local-Trade, NARTD Exports, Hot Beverages, ARTD Local & Export Trade) to ensure that the Tactical (18-24 months) & Operational (13 weeks) Plans are updated and accurate.
    •  Regular interaction with Marketing to forecast demand for New Products or Product Changes, including Price.
    •  External & collaborative planning is crucial with KO (OU & CPS), MEC, Export Customers, Key Suppliers or supporting Material Groups or Commodities via Procurement.

    Key Outputs and Accountabilities

    1. Develop and maintain accurate 3-5 year strategic forecast in line with company strategy and as an input to the business planning process. Present to and review with regional management and once consensus is reached maintain changes.
    2. Develop and maintain accurate 18-24 month Rolling Estimate forecast in line with company strategy. Present to and review with regional management and once consensus is reached maintain changes.
    3. Within agreed upon change parameters, review and maintain 13 week operational forecast. Maintain high level of forecast accuracy for short-term forecast that drives MRP.
    4. Create predictive, high quality forecasts and forecast analytics using available systems and input from relevant role players in sales & marketing.
    5. Incorporate relevant information on new or discontinued SKUs, causal and marketing intelligence information from sales and marketing to maintain databases and enhance statistical forecast.
    6. Validates that all metrics are in place and correctly reported. Works with Demand Planners to improve overall demand management through the deployment of root cause analysis.
    7. Effectively communicate across all levels of the organization to ensure consensus and understanding in the forecasting process.
    8. Perform weekly and monthly performance review meetings with Demand Planners to improve forecast accuracy, align clear and accountable action plans and track progress.
    9. Apply Demand Control in the Operational Firm Period

    Judgement and decision making

    •  Accountable for CCBA Demand Planning Process and Final Demand Plan.
    •  Create Analytical Demand Plan, based on Statistical Modelling, make decisions on the impact of market, economic, weather, price and other factors that will impact on demand.
    •  Manage and engage in Consensus Forecasting with Commercial.
    •  Deliver a volume and value plan, incorporating financials.

    Skills, Experience & Education    

    •  Minimum – Post Graduate Degree in Economics and or Statistics.
    •  Advantageous – ACPF (Advanced Certified Professional Forecaster through Institute of Business Forecasting)

    Experience:

    •  Minimum 10 Years Business Experience, with 5 Years in Beverage or Similar Consumer Goods Industry.
    •  Financial, Economic & Commercial Business Acumen
    •  Knowledge Expert in Forecasting & Demand Planning Paradigms, Processes & Systems
    •  Experience in using and managing Advanced Demand Planning Systems and applied Statistical Forecasting Models (both Time Series and Regression Modeling)
    •  Experience in using an ERP system , ideally SAP, MSD specifically MRP
    •  Strong computer skills with a focus on database and spreadsheet modeling and data handling
    •  Coca-Cola & Bottling Sales, Marketing Acumen
    •  Supply Chain & Demand Thought and Performance Leadership
