Our client based in Johannesburg is seeking a sharp, analytical, and ambitious Senior FP&A Analyst to join their high-performing team in Johannesburg. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical modelling capabilities, a commercial mindset, and the adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
As a Senior FP&A Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial future of the organisation. Your expertise in financial modelling will be instrumental in developing robust forecasting models that inform strategic decisions. You will have the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership, providing them with clear business insights derived from complex financial data. Your contributions will extend beyond traditional FP&A responsibilities as you support capital planning, investment appraisals, and financial due diligence.
What you'll do:
Partner directly with executives to build and iterate on the company’s long-term financial and strategic plans.
Develop, refine, and maintain 3-statement models (short-, medium-, and long-term).
Conduct scenario analysis and recommend changes to forecasts and budgets.
Oversee forecasting, reporting, and variance analysis across business units.
Translate complex financial data into clear business insights and recommendations.
Support capital planning, investment appraisals, and financial due diligence.
Drive process automation and performance reporting using Excel and Power BI.
Contribute to board reporting, investor decks, and business case modelling.
What you bring:
FMVA certification
Postgraduate diploma in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
2+ years of experience in FP&A, Corporate Finance, or Investment Banking
Proven expertise in advanced Excel modelling
Knowledge including Power Query, Power Pivot, and DAX
Familiarity with Data Analytics, SQL, Power BI, and data visualisation tools is a plus
Strong commercial acumen and the ability to think both analytically and strategically
