Senior Officer: Social Media (12 Months Contract) – REF: JW392EX/2024 at Johannesburg Water

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Oversee and supervise the social media team. Curate and place selected content on official social media platforms and other digital platforms. Logging and escalating calls received on social media platforms with the Johannesburg Water Call Centre Identify appropriate digital platforms and collaboration opportunities for promotion of Johannesburg Water’s digital presence.
• Writing customer notices and systems updates and other relevant copy/content. Engage with key stakeholders (internal and external) to ensure that Johannesburg Water is communicating its marketing and communication strategy effectively.
• Developing monthly and quarterly social media reports Develop copy intended to market key aspects of Johannesburg Water, special projects and campaigns. Create editorial content and syndicate with the departmental calendar of events.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Essential qualifications and experience:

• NQF 7 qualification in one of the fields of journalism, strategic communication or digital marketing
• 5 years experience in social media management, writing, editing and digital marketing experience.
• Demonstrate experience in social media crisis communication.
• Experience with design software (Adobe, Canva and similar)
• Demonstrate experience in social media campaigns.
• Experience in digital marketing techniques and social media usability principles.
• Experience with digital and online analytics tools.
