Requirements    

• Degree with relevance to the position
• Business English: Fluent 
• Code 08 Driver's license  
• Computer literacy (Advanced)  
• 5-10yrs + relevant experience in applying job related concepts, techniques, and processes at the required level  
• 5-10yrs + People management experience 
• Knowledge/experience in Dairy based food production - advantageous  
• Work shifts/weekends/public holidays

Duties and Responsibilities    
Manage production processes        

• Execute planning and scheduling        
• Compile and submit production reports         
• Manage quality, costs and the functionality of equipment         
• Manage the manufacturing process         
• Ensure housekeeping and good manufacturing practice 
• Manage department operations 
• Direct the managers in provision and execution of operating strategies and plans 
• Ensure optimal stock holding levels 
• improve the reliability of the plant through sound maintenance practices 
• Implement action plans to achieve best practices 
• Ensure smooth commissioning of equipment during project completion 

Manage staff          

• Set objectives and manage performance         
• Ensure optimal utilisation of staff        
• Apply consistent discipline         
• Train and develop staff         
• Conduct meetings and ensure effective communication to all        
• Liaise and communicate with management in all departments
• Establish safety practices in accordance with the OSHACT 
• Implement actions to reduce the environmental impact of the departments          
• Implement and maintain Way Better teams      

Manage production productivity         

• Improve capacity utilisation and overall plant performance (OPP)         
• Manage lost time injury frequency rate (LTIFR)         
• Manage strike rate         
• Manage usage variance eg. AE, AM, AF        
• Manage SHE activities in production
• Implement action plans to achieve best practices 
• Ensure smooth commissioning of equipment during project completion 
• Identify opportunities for automation and mechanization 
• Identify action plans to close performance gaps 
• Improve the reliability of the plant through sound maintenance practices 
• Improve quality by reducing incidents of non-conformance 
• Manage and maintain good manufacturing practices (GMP) 
• Identify the root cause and implement corrective action plans

Manage fixed cost        

• Manage overtime, labour cost, electricity usage, water usage etc.        
• Compile annual fixed cost budget and report on deviations    
• Perform analysis of manufacturing materials and determine optimum control levels 
• Develop and motivate the cost-effective alternatives and improvements to production processes
