What you’ll be doing (and why you’ll enjoy it)

• You’ll be responsible for installing and configuring operating systems, managing access controls, and ensuring system availability and security compliance. You’ll implement and maintain system controls and monitor infrastructure performance using tools like SolarWinds and Zabbix. Additionally, you’ll oversee virtualisation with VMware and manage storage solutions. Troubleshooting performance issues, monitoring firewalls, and handling service management activities will also be part of your remit, ensuring that systems operate smoothly and efficiently.

What you’ll need

• You’ll need 5 years of experience in system administration with proficiency in both Microsoft and Linux environments. Key qualifications include VMware certification (VCTA or higher), Fortinet certification, and CompTIA Security+.
• Your experience should cover network troubleshooting, security principles, virtualisation, and SAN storage. Hands-on knowledge of DNS, identity management (Active Directory, LDAP, Azure AD), and working with technologies like Docker and various database systems will set you apart.
