    Sensory Analyst - Harrismith

    Main Purpose

    • The Sensory Analyst assists the Sensory & Consumer Feedback Specialist with the activities in the sensory Laboratory (managing and training panels, analyzing results, managing facilities & supporting inline laboratory).

    A day in the life of a Sensory Analyst

    Quality System:

    • Define and update the specific sensory procedures, instructions and tools.
    • Acts as super-user for BPM in the market; train users and support the roll-out.            

    Analytical methods and tests:

    • Proficiency in carrying out the sensory tests according to standard procedures and work instructions.
    • Responsible for the quality control plan of the equipment under their responsibility including calibration.
    • Responsilbe for interpreting results and for reproducibility and repeatability of analyses
    • Initiate and drive RCA related to sensory deviation                          

    Results reporting:

    • Timely reporting of consolidated results and trends to the functions concerned (sensory results, panel performance, consumer complaints)
    • Timely management of keeping quality and reporting results                                  

    Quality mastership:

    • Perform analyses and tests as defined
    • Perform training of panelists in performing the tasting procedures.
       

    What will make you successful?

    • Bachelor's degree/Diploma or equivalent in Microbiology, Chemistry, Food technology or other related fields)
    • 1 year experience in equivalent role
