    Social Media and Community Manager

    Description

    The business opportunity

    Rarely does a person have the opportunity to join a disruptive company that will change the way people view the financial services industry. Banking is old school, a chore, it’s expensive and something most of us don’t like doing. It’s time someone changed that and shifted the power from the incumbents to the consumer. After all it's your money, why should you constantly have to pay fees and then pay more fees just for good measure. It should be a value exchange that fits seamlessly into customers lives, imagine banking was as simple as sending a text message.

    You have the unique opportunity to be part of the company that’s mission is to deliver on this promise;

    Everything you want from banking minus the stuff you don’t from banks.

    This role will be the Social Media and Community Manager, you’ll be joining a dynamic team of seasoned business, marketing, product and development professionals, as they take the product that they’ve just launched to scale. Spot Money SA is South Africa’s first open banking marketplace that combines payments, digital banking and a personalised marketplace into one “Super App”!

    The opportunity is for you to influence the brands creative and content strategy, placing your personal stamp on the business. We can’t lie, being in a start-up is hard, there are going to be long hours, job roles will evolve, and you will be asked to learn and grow with the business. However, this comes with great reward and personal satisfaction.

    The Role:

    We’re on the hunt for a highly creative and organized Social Media & Community Manager to join our team. In this role, you’ll lead the charge in growing our social media presence and boost community engagement by creating best-in-class content, engaging with our audience through gold-star community management, and being a day-to-day point-of-contact for our influencer partners. You’ll work closely with our Head of Performance and Creative and play a key role in our organic marketing efforts, bringing the Spot Money brand to life through compelling social media content and visual storytelling.

    Ideal candidates are natural content creators who live and breathe social, have an in-depth understanding of social channels (with a focus on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Pinterest) and have prior experience growing social follower counts for a brand or publication. If you are a social media wizard, have a passion for all things home and lifestyle, and love wearing many hats, creating inspiring content, testing new platforms and features, and engaging with audiences, we’d love to hear from you!

    Who you are:

    • A content creator at heart—You have stellar copywriting skills, a knack for storytelling, and a talent for producing stunning visual content in a variety of formats from photo imagery to graphics, GIFs, Instagram stories and reels, TikTok videos, Pinterest guides, and more.

    • A community builder—You love engaging with people and you understand how to connect with an audience, using insights to deliver more of what your audience wants. You have an in-depth understanding of consumer behavior and audience engagement on each platform.

    • An enthusiastic go-getter—You are highly organized, have a can-do attitude, enjoy wearing many hats, have a natural inclination for problem solving, and can balance projects, priorities, and deadlines. You maintain high standards in every aspect of your work and continually raise the bar.
