    OCI Media Services is an exciting new team working on a suite of OCI-native services in the digital media space. We are building services from the ground up that run the gamut from content transcode and video streaming to information extraction and analytics. 
     
    As a Software Engineer, you will play a key part in building distributed, scalable, fault tolerant software systems in support of our business needs and end customer. You will participate in the entire software lifecycle – development, testing, CI/CD and production operations. 

    From a technology perspective, this is a greenfield development environment with a huge amount of autonomy, leaving us free to build and innovate without being encumbered by legacy products and services. 

    About You:

    • Have a solid grounding in computer science fundamentals, who can easily pick up a new programming language

    • Enjoy working in an innovative and collaborative environment

    • Can do operational support on an on-call roster basis including

    • You have excellent communication skills. You can clearly explain complex technical concepts

    Core Qualifications

    • BS in Computer Science, or equivalent experience

    • Ability to work in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment

    • Ability to demonstrate logical thinking, decisiveness and drive in taking on and completing tasks

    Beneficial Qualifications

    • Experience with scripting and non-scripting programming languages (Python and Java preferred but not mandatory)

    • Experience with components of modern infrastructure like service discovery, secret storage, containerization, software-defined networking, etc.

    • Experience in diagnosing, troubleshooting and resolving performance issues in complex environments

    • Experience using dependency injection frameworks like Guice or Spring

    • Experience running services on Kubernetes

    Detailed Description and Job Requirements
    As a member of the team, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the ingestion, management, and distribution of digital media. In addition to feature work, you will develop automation to assist in the testing, verification, and deployment of the service in all OCI regions. As with any new product delivery, duties and tasks will vary and changes in priority are the norm.
     
    Our vision is to provide a suite of services that enable customers to build rich media applications natively on OCI. In addition to providing the core services that form the basis of media workflows, we plan on expanding our capabilities into higher-level ML-driven information extraction services.     Detailed Description and Job Requirements

     Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

    As a member of the software engineering division, you will apply basic to intermediate knowledge of software architecture to perform software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications or operating systems according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and occasionally suggest improvements to the architecture.

    Duties and tasks are standard with some variation; displays understanding of roles, processes and procedures. Performs moderately complex problem solving with assistance and guidance in understanding and applying company policies and processes. BS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 1 year of software engineering or related experience.
