Software Engineering Team Lead at OrderIn

What you will be doing

• Build and lead a team of engineers, establish the team culture & processes and mentor & grow individual team members.
• Lead technical discussions and guide the team towards making the right technology choices.
• Ensure we are working on the right problems, building the right solutions, and executing quickly & effectively.
• Partner with product, data science, design, operations, and other engineering teams to contribute to our product roadmap.
• Ensure a delightful user experience, high quality of delivered features and maintain a high quality codebase.
• Conduct research into new tools, techniques, and best practices + facilitating knowledge sharing within the team

Requirements and qualifications

• 10+ years relevant experience developing mission critical web and server applications in agile environment (preferably C# / Asp.Net)
• Strong people leader and collaborator who can partner closely with cross-functional team members and other teams throughout the organization to drive key initiatives forward.
• Proven track record of leading teams to successfully execute multiple parallel work streams and ship high-quality product features on schedule.
• Problem solving demeanor - the ability to self-serve, investigate and get the data will make you much more effective in this role. Being driven is a must!
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment while prioritizing and handling multiple responsibilities
• High levels of comfort applying agile development methodologies in a leadership capacity.
• Experience with running applications on one of the public cloud providers like AWS, GCP or Azure
• Proven experience with Microsoft .NET technologies including, ASP.NET, MVC, Entity Framework
• Should have working knowledge of using the latest development tools and techniques.
• Previous experience with e-commerce website development and distributed application technologies is a definite plus!
• Authorization to work in South Africa
