Specialist - Operational Readiness at Glencore

Glencore is currently undertaking a feasibility assessment of the Aurukun bauxite resource.
The Project is seeking a Specialist – Operational Readiness to support its current field work program as well as undertake planning for potential future operations.

Reporting to the Operations Lead, the role will require you to:

•  Coordinate and supervise site activities that are part of the field work program
•  Ensure the health and safety of project workforce through compliance with regulatory and risk-based requirements for field activities
•  Develop and provide input into operational planning, including preparation of procedures, training packages and standard work instructions
•  Contribute to future workforce planning processes
•  Facilitate and participate in mentoring, training and skill enhancement initiatives for Aurukun community members as part of the operational readiness program
•  Promote continuous improvement in safety culture and performance on the project.

The successful applicant will have:

•  Minimum 5 years experience as an open cut supervisor across different commodities
•  Minimum 5 years experience as an all round operator on large mining equipment
•  Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116)
•  Mining Supervisor competency (G1, G8, G9).
