Job Description

SYSTEM ADMINISTRATION

• Daily Administration and Monitoring of server, storage, and backup infrastructure    
• Business data backups and offsite storage
• Inhouse and vendor 3rd party application support
• Access management
• Support of Information and Security Governance in line with relevant policies
• Troubleshoot system and applications issues in conjunction with other internal departments
• On-site or remote diagnoses and resolution of server hardware and software problems
• Stay up to date with relevant Technology and Infrastructure advances

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Linux administration (all variants)
• Network storage administration (NetApp clusters) (NFS and CIFS)
• Backups administration (IBM Tivoli) and off-site tape storage
• Hardware break-fix repairs (Vendor assisted)
• Administration of cloud infrastructure (IaaS)

ACCOUNTABILITY

• Be available to work after hours where necessary to minimize business downtime and resolve issues within maintenance window periods.
• Travel Between Hosting Sites and Company Offices as business require

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS

Educational Qualifications:

• Matric
• Relevant IT Certification and or experience (advantageous)
