    Technical Writer

    About the Job 

    We are looking for a Technical Writer to create and maintain digital content that explains complex technical concepts.

    This individual contributor role forms part of our Centre of Excellence team, charged with ensuring customers have access to a full range of support for the solutions they've purchased. Comprising Technical Writers, Community Moderators, Content Creators and Social Media managers, the team sits within the Customer Excellence division, charged with providing our customers with a remarkable experience and the ability to self serve. 

    The role reports to the Technical Content & Community Manager and requires the candidate to work with content creators around the business to translate complex technical information in clear, concise content aimed at both internal and external audiences. You will need to excellent writing and grammar skills, and be able to work independently, delivering accurate content under deadline pressure.

    What you'll do

    • Write, Proofread and edit creative content for website informational pages
    • Optimising content and articles for SEO
    • Creating end user / administrator content for the company’s Knowledge Base, resulting in the reduction of support cases raised
    • Handling user feedback and amending Knowledge Base content as required
    • Liaising with Product Managers and Engineers, to understand a project’s scope including beta testing
    • Liaising with Creative, PR and Enablement teams to drive performance through quality content
    • Identifying potential improvements in the Knowledge Base, to ensure that we deliver a remarkable customer experience
    • Contribute to and maintain KCS articles

    What you'll bring

    • Excellent written English
    • Experience in copywriting/technical writing experience.
    • Ability to gather and analyze the information needs of the audience
    • Strong interviewing and listening skills
    • Collaborating with internal specialists to clarify technical issues
    • Using graphics editing software
    • Basic HTML editing skills

    Delivering content to meet the audience’s needs, ensuring:

    • the most appropriate media is used
    • it is organized efficiently
    • all Mimecast’s style and consistency standards are met

    Experience with

    • TechSmith SnagIt
    • Salesforce
    • Atlassian Jira/Confluence
    • Office 365
