    Zero Dropout Campaign: Training Coordinator

    Role

    Zero Dropout Campaign is an incubated project of the DG Murray Trust (DGMT) working to halve the rate of school dropout by 2030. This ambitious vision aims to set a common agenda and provides direction and clarity to mobilise and direct the activities of a diverse range of stakeholders towards the same critical outcomes.

    TaRL Zero Dropout Campaign: is an accelerated catch-up programme that focuses on assisting learners to acquire foundational literacy and numeracy skills through the implementation of programmes such as Reading for Meaning and Maths Matters

    The campaign seeks to appoint a National Training Coordinator based at the DGMT Offices in Cape Town.

    Minimum requirements

    • Degree/Diploma in Training and Development; Development Studies; Facilitation; Curriculum design or similar field.
    • Two years experience in training and program implementation.
    • Experience as a Trainer inclusive of in-field facilitation.
    • Track record in designing and executing successful training programs inclusive of the design of training plans and assessment tools.
    • Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods (mentoring, coaching, on-the-job or in-classroom training, e-learning, workshops, simulations, etc.).
    • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
    • Ability to plan, multi-task and manage time effectively
    • Strong writing and record-keeping ability for reports and training manuals.
    • Proficient
    • Fluent in 2+ South African languages.
    • Driver’s license and willingness to travel are essential.

    Additional qualifications or experience that will be an added advantage

    • Evidence of proactive leadership, strategic thinking, problem solving and adaptability, and strong people skills.
    • A strong understanding of monitoring and evaluation principles and quality assurance.
    • Experience in working with NGOs an advantage.

    Responsibilities

    • Identify and assess future and current training needs within the TaRL implementing teams.
    • Conceptualise a training strategy based on the conducted needs analysis and identified project objectives.
    • Develop a training implementation plan integrating delivery of instructional content; and facilitation guides; assessment tools and practicable training protocols for the project.
    • Train and mentor implementing teams in various provinces.
    • Monitor and evaluate the training programme’s effectiveness, success, and ROI periodically and report on them.
    • Support and supervise training staff to implement training outputs successfully.
    • Surface learnings on training implementation and tailor training programs as necessary to respond to gaps.
    • Maintain a keen understanding of training trends, developments and best practices and advise on insights.
