    Freight Forwarder, Airfreight

    Main Purpose of the Role

    Required

    This job entails the ownership of the entire process around managing and coordinating the client import shipments against ready date and required site date through

    • Effective communication with clients and service providers
    • On time collection and delivery of cargo
    • Delivery of cargo with a clean invoice

    Job-Related Requirements

    • Minimum of 2 years Freight Forwarding Industry Experience
    • Airfreight Experience advantageous

    Computer Literacy Level

    • Cargowise1 would be advantageous

    Duties And Responsibilities

    • Ensure company objectives are achieved
    • Co-ordinate the collection and shipping of cargo with DSV origin offices in conjunction with client’s PO and the estimated ready date
    • Effectively apply verbal and written communication methods to achieve desired results from internal and external clients on issues, changes and shipment status in line with the client/customer SOP
    • Follow operational systems and procedures
    • Reporting on any delays during the collection timeframe and escalating the matters to management
    • Monitoring the shipment throughout its lifecycle to be able to provide constant updates to the consignee
    • Ensure client files are invoiced within agreed metrics and as per the agreed INCO terms and rates
    • Arranging EFT payments when required
    • Identifying and finding solutions for clients to ensure their shipments are delivered within the agreed metric ROS
    • Updating of milestones throughout the shipment lifecycle
    • On-time collection and delivery of cargo
    • File closure within metric
    • Registration of brokerage only shipments

    Other Duties

    • Quality check of files once invoiced out and POD of Transport invoices received
    • Assisting with queries and estimates when required
    • Attend monthly operational meetings with respective clients
    • Covering of fellow employees’ desks during absence due to sick leave, annual leave etc.
    • Completing the claims process in conjunction with the latest claims policy
    • Accountable for timeous resolution of all outstanding queries pertaining to accounts under your control

    Main Purpose of The Role

    The main purpose of the role will be reporting into the Ocean Product Manager and ensuring that all tender pricing exercises for general verticals are maintained at a level of professionalism while doing this.
