    Senior Manager: Cyber Forensics and Forensic Data (Permanent)

    Main purpose:

    •  To lead and oversee the provision of cyber forensics and forensic data expertise during national, provincial and strategic investigations into maladministration and corruption within State institutions, in support of the Multi-Disciplinary Approach (“MDA”) to all projects/assignments across the organisation. 
    • Manage cyber investigations, digital forensics, and incident response engagements per applicable methodologies. Proficiency in identifying the systems and logs for analysis, documentation and report writing. Knowledge of networks, operating systems, databases, static and dynamic malware analysis, reverse engineering, digital forensics and cloud analytics. Be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive data and cybersecurity program that aligns with SIU objectives and ensures compliance with industry regulations.
    • Lead the collection, interpretation, and analysis of massive volumes of data, leveraging complex financial or statistical modelling, fraud detection and other suspicious transaction techniques to address operations’ day-to-day requirements. Analyse large and disparate data to support or refute the facts and allegations of disputes, investigations and litigations.

    Key performance areas (Include but are not limited to): 

    • Management of the Delivery of Cyber Forensics and Forensics Data, Involvement in National, Provincial and Strategic Projects Requiring Cyber Forensics and Forensics Data Expertise. Development of the Cyber Forensics and Forensics Data Area. Staff Management. Stakeholder Management and Business Development. 

    Minimum requirements

    • B Honours Degree in Cyber Forensics or Data Forensics or related field (NQF 8).
    • Formal Project Management qualification or an approved Cyber or Data Forensics Certification would be advantageous. Membership with a professional body would be advantageous.  
    • Six to eight years in Cyber or Forensic Data Investigations, of which four years are at a management level.

    Senior Practitioner: Trainer X2 ( 2 Years Fixed Term Contract)

    Main purpose: 

    • To provide expert training to all SIU personnel (including managers, investigators, and support staff, as well as to Government Departments, Law Enforcement Agencies in South Africa, SADC and on the continent, on various Microsoft Office packages and digital investigations training.
    • The role will focus on enhancing the digital skills of employees to support the agency's investigations and administrative functions.

    Key performance areas (Include but are not limited to): 

    • Design and deliver training programs on Microsoft Office packages, as well as digital investigations training courses. Train investigators on open-source intelligence and cyber-related investigations. Develop and maintain training materials, including manuals, guides, and online resources. Work closely under the guidance of the Trainer on material development.  
    • Periodically update and maintain the SETA database as well as the SIU Learning Management System (LMS) with information on all learners trained. Provide one-on-one coaching and support to employees as needed. Collaborate with the IT department to ensure seamless integration of training programs with agency systems. Evaluate training effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
    • Stay up to date with emerging trends and technologies in digital investigations and Microsoft Office. Develop and maintain online training resources, including video tutorials and interactive guides. Provide training on data management and security best practices. Support the agency's digital transformation initiatives.

    Minimum requirements

    • Certificate in Cyber NQF 6/7 or related qualification. Experience in digital investigations and cyber-related training in an investigative environment.
    • 3 years’ experience in digital investigations training. Strong understanding of adult learning (andragogic) principles and instructional design.

    Senior Manager: Applications Management (Permanent)

    Main purpose: 

    • To drive the strategic management, modernisation, and continuous improvement of all enterprise applications within the SIU. This role serves as the custodian of the SIU’s application ecosystem, ensuring alignment with Enterprise Architecture and business objectives, security standards, and agile delivery principles. The incumbent will champion DevOps practices, drive automation, and foster a culture of innovation and collaboration across development, operations, and business teams.

    Key performance areas (Include but are not limited to): 

    • Drive the SIU’s enterprise application strategy, ensuring scalability, security, and business alignment. Oversee the full application lifecycle: planning, development, deployment, maintenance, and retirement. Champion DevOps practices, including continuous integration, automated testing, and infrastructure as code. Manage application performance, availability, and user experience across platforms. Lead cross-functional teams including developers, testers, analysts, and infrastructure specialists.
    • Ensure compliance with ICT governance, POPIA, and cybersecurity standards. Drive innovation in application architecture, cloud adoption, and digital service delivery. Manage vendor relationships, licensing, and support contracts. Collaborate with business units to identify application needs and deliver value-driven solutions.

    Minimum requirements

    • NQF Level 8 – Honours Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. 6–8 years in enterprise application management, software development, or systems integration. 
    • At least 4 years in a leadership or management role overseeing application portfolios, DevOps teams, or digital transformation initiatives. Experience with cloud-native applications, CI/CD pipelines, and agile delivery frameworks is highly desirable.

    Senior Manager: Reward and Performance (Permanent)

    Main purpose: 

    • To manage the development and administration of the Special Investigation Unit’s Reward and Performance Management strategy to attract, retain and motivate staff. Also responsible for leading the development, implementation, and management of reward, performance, and payroll strategies, policies, and programs to ensure alignment with the SIU’s strategic objectives. This role will focus on creating a high-performance culture through effective performance management systems, competitive reward structures, and efficient payroll operations.

    Key performance areas (Include but not limited to): 

    • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement reward and performance strategies that align with the SIU’s goals and objectives.
    • Policy Development: Create and maintain reward and performance policies, ensuring they are up-to-date and compliant with relevant legislation.
    • Performance Management: Oversee the performance management system, including setting performance standards, conducting performance reviews, and managing performance improvement plans.
    • Operational Planning and Implementation: Payroll Management: Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, including managing payroll systems, compliance with tax regulations, and resolving payroll-related issues. 
    • Reward Management: Design and manage compensation structures, including salary benchmarking, incentive programs, and recognition schemes.
    • Data Analysis: Analyse performance and reward data to provide insights and recommendations to SIU executive management. 
    • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with SIU Management and Human Capital management to ensure alignment and effective implementation of reward and performance programs. 
    • Compliance: Ensure all reward and performance practices comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
    • Learning and Development: Provide guidance and training to managers and employees on performance and reward-related matters. Budget Management. Staff Management.

    Minimum requirements

    • B Honours Degree in Human Resources Management (NQF 8). 6 to 8 years experience in remuneration and performance, of which 4 years is at a management level.

    Principal Forensic Lawyer (Permanent)

    Main purpose: 

    • To deliver on provincial projects and provide support to national projects through the provision of quality forensic legal services during investigations into maladministration and corruption within State institutions, in support of the Multi-disciplinary approach (“MDA”) to all projects / assignments.

    Minimum requirements

    • LLB (NQF 8). Admitted as an Attorney / Advocate. Membership with a professional body would be advantageous.
    • Six to Eight years’ appropriate Legal experience in Forensics, of which four years is  at a management level. Experience in public sector investigations.

    Financial Administrator: Legal Fees (2 Years Fixed Term Contract)

    Main purpose: 

    • To provide financial administrative support to the Finance and Civil Litigation Unit (“the CLU”) of the SIU by ensuring invoices are submitted on time for payments. Administer day-to-day payments and reconcile any outstanding invoices to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.

    Key performance areas (Include but not limited to): 

    • Following up with counsel to submit invoices regularly, particularly during mid-year and year-end periods. Liaise with the SIU CLU to submit invoices to the Office of the State Attorney (OSA) financial office for payment.
    • Compile accrual listings for unpaid invoices to enable processing within the finance system. Reconcile accruals against actual payments to prevent duplication of costs.
    • Receiving schedules of payments from OSA and other panels of attorneys and processing them in the Finance business unit after adding relevant project and other GL codes. Reconciling outstanding invoice schedules monthly.

    Minimum requirements

    • National Diploma/ Advanced certificate in Accounting/ Finance/ Financial Management or related field (NQF 6).
    • Three years’ experience in Accounting/ Finance/ Financial Management environment.
    • Experience in Accounts Payable in a legal environment and working knowledge of legal costs terminology & Litigation proceedings will be advantageous, with the roles and invoicing from attorneys and counsel to clients.

    Senior Practitioner: Curriculum Development: Accreditation and Qualification ( 2 Years Fixed Term Contract)

    Main purpose: 

    • To maintain the accreditation and compliance of the SIU Anti-Corruption and Cyber Academy at a strategic and operational level and ensure adherence and application of applicable legislation, Regulations, and Policies. 

    Key performance areas (Include but are not limited to): 

    • Manage the accreditation and extension of the accreditation for the academy. Coordination and facilitation of the establishment of the Assessment Centre. 
    • Maintaining and updating the Quality Management System (QMS) as and when required. Handling the Facilitation of qualification and curriculum development. 
    • Facilitate and Liaise with the qualifications content creators (internally and SIU external partners), subject matter experts, the relevant SETA and the international cyber expert to ensure that learning materials are aligned with the curriculum and SAQA requirements.  Stakeholder Management.  Coordinate the registration and reregistration of assessors and moderators of the academy. 
    • Oversee the assessments and moderations of the Learner PoEs done by assessors and moderators. Ensure adherence to preparing the Final Integrated Summative Assessment (FISA) and External Integrated Summative Assessment (EISA) of the academy. 

    Minimum requirements

    • NQF level 7 Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources/ Business Management or Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resources Development or Business Management will be an added advantage. Must have ISO 9001: 2015 Certification.
    • Must be a Registered Assessor and Moderator with any SETA. A minimum of 5 years experience in Learning and Development in particularly in curriculum Development.

    Senior Manager: Strategy and Organisational Performance X1 (Permanent)

    Main purpose: 

    • To proactively guide and manage the Strategy Monitoring and Reporting function by implementing effective systems to monitor and report performance at national and provincial levels in line with SIU strategic objectives.  

    Key performance areas (Include but not limited to: 

    • Develop and oversee implementation of Strategy and Organisational Performance strategy, methodology, policies and procedures to guide the governance of the function. Lead the planning and reporting function. Lead the performance analysis and evaluation function. 
    • Provide a management report on the performance of the Strategy and Organisational Performance activities.

    Minimum requirements

    • Honours in Business Administration or Business Management or Public Administration or related field (NQF 8).
    • Six to Eight years in the Monitoring and Reporting of Corporate Business Plans, of which 4 years is at a managerial/supervisory level. Experience in a Forensic Investigation environment would be advantageous.

    Senior Manager: Data Management (Permanent)

    Main purpose: 

    • To lead the strategic design, implementation, and governance of the SIU’s enterprise data management capabilities, including the implementation and maintenance of a modern data lakehouse environment. The role ensures that data is treated as a strategic asset, enabling advanced analytics, operational efficiency, and informed decision-making across the organisation.

    Key performance areas (Include but are not limited to): 

    • Guide and implement the SIU’s enterprise data strategy aligned with organisational goals. Oversee the design and operation of data platforms, including data lakes, warehouses, and integration pipelines.
    • Lead data governance initiatives, ensuring data quality, security, and compliance with legislation (e.g., POPIA). Manage data lifecycle processes, metadata management, and master data management (MDM).
    • Collaborate with business units to identify data needs for the delivery of actionable insights. Drive innovation in data analytics, AI/ML readiness, and business intelligence. Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary data team (engineers, analysts). Manage data-related projects, budgets, and vendor relationships.

    Minimum requirements

    • NQF Level 8 – Honours Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, or a related field.
    • 6–8 years of experience in enterprise data management, data warehousing, or analytics environments.
    • At least 4 years in a senior or management role overseeing data governance or engineering. Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP) and modern data architectures (e.g., data lakehouse, data mesh) is highly desirable.

    Trainer: Forensic and Digital Investigations ( 2 Years Fixed Term Contract)

    Main purpose: 

    • To provide expert training to investigators within anti-corruption and law enforcement agencies in South Africa, SADC and the continent on Forensic Investigations, including digital investigations. The role will focus on developing and delivering high-quality training programs, assessing learner performance, and collaborating with international cyber experts.

    Key performance areas (Include but are not limited to): 

    • Develop and deliver training programs on Forensic Investigations, including digital investigations (cyber forensics, cryptocurrency, open-source intelligence, AI investigations, Beneficial Ownership, Procurement Investigations, amongst others). Guide senior practitioner: Trainer on curricular development work. Create technical course content and work closely with the senior practitioner curriculum development, Accreditation and Qualifications to ensure alignment.
    • Assess learner performance and upload assessment results onto the Public Sector Education and Training database, and the SIU Anti-Corruption and Cyber Academy Learning Management System (Moodle Platform). Collaborate with international cyber experts to stay updated on emerging trends and best practices. Work with international cyber experts on creating digital training content. Train officers from law enforcement agencies within South Africa and the continent. Train Officers from the Office of the Premier in respective Provincial Officers.
    • Work closely with institutions of higher learning on content creation. Upload learning material onto the Moodle online learning platform and create assessment questions. Administer the Learning Management System (LMS) and ensure seamless delivery of online training programs. Stay up to date with legislative frameworks regulating procurement investigations, financial crime and illicit financial flow. Stay up to date with trends on financial and digital investigations.

    Minimum requirements

    • Bachelor's degree (NQF Level 7) in Forensic Investigations or equivalent, or LLB or a related field. 5 years of technical experience as a Trainer in Forensic Investigations, Financial and digital investigations. Must be an Accredited Trainer and Assessor.

    Manager: Fleet Management X1 (Fixed Term Contract: 3 Years)

    Main Purpose: 

    • To manage the fleet management section within SIU.

    Key Performance Areas (Include but are not limited to): 

    • Develop, implement, and maintain a SIU Fleet Management policy.
    • Oversee the usage and management of pool vehicles.
    • Oversee the development and implementation of a vehicle database.
    • Oversee and establish sound maintenance of pool vehicles.
    • Provide leadership and management to the section.

    Minimum requirements

    • Degree in Transport Management / Logistics / Public Management / Administrationor rela ted field (NQF level 7).
    • Project Management qualification would be advantageous.
    • Five years’ experience in fleet/transport management, of which 2 years is at a supervisory/management level.
