    Lecturer: New Generation of Academics Programme (nGAP): Immunohaematology/Clinical Pathology (Faculty of Health Sciences: Department of Biomedical Sciences)

    • The Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Johannesburg, seeks to appoint a qualified and registered Lecturer in the field of Immunohaematology/ Clinical Pathology who will actively contribute to teaching and learning, research, community outreach, and CPD development, in line with the University of Johannesburg's vision, mission, and goals.
    • The New Generation of Academics Programme (nGAP) is a Department of Higher Education and Training-funded programme that recruits a new cohort of young academics. The programme is transformative in nature, and priority is given to designated candidates. Candidates must be 40 years and younger. The programme enables nGAP appointments to benefit from teaching and research development opportunities and requires the incumbent to register for their PhD or Postdoctoral studies.

    Lecturer (Faculty of Science: Department of Chemical Sciences)

    Job Description:

    • The Department of Chemical Sciences is an academic unit within the Faculty of Science, situated on both the Auckland Park Campus (APK) in Auckland Park, and the Doornfontein campus (DFC) in Johannesburg. The Department of Chemical Sciences seeks a Lecturer to join the Analytical Chemistry cluster. The successful candidate will be actively involved in teaching, research, and academic administration at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. 

    Responsibilities:

    • Be actively involved in core activities of the department such as teaching, research, academic administration, short-course development, marketing, and community engagement projects.
    • Assume responsibility to teach modules (theory and/or practical) enlisted for the Analytical Chemistry undergraduate programme in the Department.  
    • The incumbent will also be expected to participate in curriculum development and teach modules in postgraduate programmes.
    • Annually publish peer-reviewed papers in accredited scientific and/or academic journals, and deliver papers at national and international conferences, commensurate with the level of appointment.
    • Actively supervise postgraduate students.

    Minimum requirements

    • MSc in Chemistry with specialisation in Analytical Chemistry. PhD will be an advantage.

    Senior Lecturer (Faculty of Science: Academy of Computer Science & Software Engineering)

    Description:

    • As an academic within the Academy of Computer Science and Software Engineering you will be required to undertake a variety of teaching and learning, research, and administrative duties to help the Academy, Faculty, and University meet its key performance indicators in pursuit of their respective missions.

    Responsibilities:

    • Overall: To perform academic, research, and associated administration activities in the department
    • Teaching and Learning: As per allocated timetable and required additional time for preparation

    • Must have successfully contributed to projects days (within the Academy the Annual Projects Day is a showcase of senior student practical software development projects – approximately 60 projects annually).

    Minimum requirements

    • The Facilities Management Division invites applications for the position of Practitioner I: Fire Marshal. This role is responsible for implementing and maintaining fire safety protocols to ensure the protection of life and property within the institution. The successful candidate will conduct regular fire risk assessments, lead emergency evacuations, and ensure strict compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and relevant South African fire safety standards.

    Responsibilities:
    Fire Safety & Risk Management:
