    Minimum Requirements

    • Grade 12/N3/NQF 4in instrumentation

    Primary Duties

    Minimum Requirements

    Primary Duties

    • Two years’ experience in a Plant, Water Purification and Computer environment combined is essential.

    • A valid Code 08 Driver‘s license and the ability to pass Rand Water’s K53 test.

    Primary Duties

    • Operate conveyors and vibrators to fill the lime slaker bunkers and to ensure a continuous supply of crushed burnt lime to the slakers.
    • Operate and control slakers by following safe operating procedures.
    • Operate classifier by removing grid which is discharged from the slaker
    • Ensure continuous pumping of lime to the sedimentation system through the lime dosing pumps.
    • Operate grid conveyor and report any deviations to the Supervisor.
    • Check the settings on the ferric chloride dosing pumps and adjust settings as required.
    • Operate and control the dosing pumps during emergencies at the Poly plant. Receive Poly from the supplier and check stock and delivery notes.

    • Grade 12 coupled with a NQF level 5 qualification in Water and Wastewater treatment or Chemical Engineering is essential.
    • A valid Code B drivers’ license and the ability to pass Rand Water’s K53 Drivers evaluation.
    • Registered or eligible to be registered as a DWS Class IV Process Controller.
    • Seven Years combined experience in a Plant, Water Purification, Supervisory and Computer environment is essential.

    The critical functions will include:

    • Monitor and control water quality during the purification process as well as tracking water quality trends on a continuous basis to ensure compliance to SANS 0241 class 1 and Rand Water Standards.
    • Report deviations to the Senior Process Supervisor and take corrective action to ensure compliance.
    • Monitor and adjust dosing of chemicals to prevent overdosing on SCADA.
    • Ensure that filtration process is within parameters and specifications.
    • Daily and monthly reports and statistics.
    • Supervision of staff and to ensure compliance with regards to occupational health and safety aspects.
    • Reporting of defective plant, ensure staff attendance and compile shift roster, timesheets etc. Recordkeeping of data as well as investigate and compile non-conformance reports. Perform job observations.

    Process Control Assistant - Lime Plant

    Minimum Requirements

    • Grade 12.

    Primary Duties

    • Selecting of Slaker Bunkers and ensure all conditions are correct by measuring bunkers daily. Visually check limit switches, filling of bungers and off-loading of trucks.
    • Selection of conveyors to fill bunkers as requested by checking condition of conveyors and dust extraction units. Start sequence of conveyor and dust extraction unit Check for overloading of conveyor and report to operator. Cleaning of spillages from the conveyor.
    • Monitoring and operating of sump pumps by stopping/starting pumps manually to prevent flooding of lime plant.
    • Ensure that the Lime Plant is kept clean and all spillages to be cleaned immediately.
    • Conduct general housekeeping duties in and around the Lime plant.
      Loading of trucks and assisting Driver to safely load and off load crushing Lime.
