JOB DESCRIPTION

This position will report to the Warehouse Supervisor and will be involved in activities relating to managing incoming deliveries by verifying and signing for shipments; ensuring that cargo is offloaded timeously, stored appropriately and processing all paperwork in a timely manner; and ensuring that safety regulations are met. 

Responsibilities may include comparing purchase orders with packing lists; working with internal customers; processing returns for incorrect or unsatisfactory items and assisting with coordinating operations with other departments. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs a variety of transactional and supportive duties in the receiving, and transportation of products and materials. Responsibilities include receiving, preparing and distributing orders and providing related clerical reports 
• Ensures product compatibility and stacking / storage compliance
• Collaborate with Purchasing staff and transporters to list expected deliveries
• Receive delivery notes and capture on Oracle 11i 
• Verify packages according to order and invoices (quantity, quality, price etc.). Contact Purchasing or shipper if a mistake is identified
• Assume responsibility for returning unsatisfactory shipments or receiving replacements
• Prepares and completes a variety of documentation as required
• Prepare labels, ensures product is labeled correctly and put-away have been completed physically and systematically
• Responds to routine questions and concerns from warehousing functions, provides standard information, and other assistance as required
• Follows guidelines to ensure compliance with DOT, hazardous materials, HSE and other regulations, policies, and procedures
• Performs various clerical duties, such as entering data, sorting, copying and filing documents, and related clerical functions
• May perform a variety of other supportive duties within the operations environment relating to inventory, production, quality, scheduling, warehousing, and other related areas
• Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• Two years of clerical or office support experience within a shipping, receiving or transportation environment is required.
• Experience in a warehouse dealing with hazardous materials would be advantageous.
• High school graduate or equivalent education and experience. 
• Valid forklift and reach truck license is preferred.

An exciting opportunity exists in our South African division to support the growth of our Automotive Refinish Coating business with a focus on Gauteng as well as the rest of South Africa and into sub-Saharan Africa, through providing exceptional Technical Service Support.

This position provides advanced technical direction and assistance to customers regarding the use of the product lines and facilitates account management with sales. Responsibilities may include responding to complex questions and concerns, serving as an expert in a single technology or working with multiple application technologies, and assisting customers with improving operational quality and efficiency. 

Please note: This role involves extensive travel, and a valid drivers license is a requirement.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responds to comprehensive questions and concerns from the customer regarding product lines and general operations; operates under minimal supervision and solves comprehensive problems that require project management principles. 
• Provides technical direction and assistance to customers on the use of the product lines; operations involve multiple or complex locations, and the application of multiple technologies. 
• Installs and commissions paint systems at end user customers and provides training on correct use of colour tools and colour retrieving software.
• Serves as an operational advisor to customers by applying advanced quality tools and analytical concepts to assist with improving product quality, efficiency, and line design; receives direction or guidance when required. 
• Serves as a liaison with sales by interacting with line and management personnel, developing a complete understanding of needs and operations, and providing observations and leads to sales; receives direction from other personnel when required.
• Performs broad account management activities by maintaining and creating new sales, facilitating orders, developing relationships with all levels of management, and resolving problems in conjunction with sales or other technical personnel.
• Is fundamental in the stock requirements and management at customer sites together with an appropriate level of understanding on internal logistics and its requirements.
• Serves as a lead to lower level technical service representatives or other staff, which includes prioritizing and assigning work and determining work direction. 
• Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 5+ years of technical experience in Automotive Refinish coatings.
• High school graduate or equivalent education and experience. Qualified Automotive Refinish spray painter. 
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Operations Management preferred.
