    Production Foreman : Utilities - Shalaamboot

    • We’re on the lookout for an experienced Production Foreman : Utilities to effectively manage resources (people, plant & equipment) with the objective of producing quality and quantity products according to customer requirements, mill standards and objectives.

    As a Production Foreman : Utilities, you will be responsible for:

    • Leads a Shift based team assigned to his/her plant.
    • Participates in relevant forums to facilitate effective communication. MDT, SHEQ, etc.
    • Recommends maintenance/upgrade/replacement of existing equipment to optimize production efficiency.
    • Plans the plant operations to ensure the maximum utilization of the resources (raw materials, energy, people).

    What are we looking for?

    • Matric and Full N4 Pulp making and/or N4 Papermaking and/or N4 Engineering and/or NQF Level 5 Qualification.
    • Minimum 3 years’ Plant Operations Experience.
    • 2 Years’ Supervisory experience.
    • Computer Literate (MS Office Package)
    • SAP knowledge.

    Checker - Chemical - Ngodwana

    We’re on the lookout for an experienced Checker for the Chemical section to ensure all outside equipment and processes are fully utilized and functional.
    As a Checker - Chemical , you will be responsible for:

    • Ensure the plant is running according to the required rate and quality specifications
    • Check auxiliary equipment once per shift
    • Responsible for the effective running of the lime conveyors
    • Responsible for the reporting of any defects/deviations from the normal running of the plant
    • Responsible for the replacement of the filter cloth on the pre-coat filter
    • Remove blockages on lime conveyors and crushers
    • Reclaim lime and load lime with Bobcat and front-end loader
    • Responsible for the inspection and cleaning of Bobcat and front-end loader
    • Identify abnormal / emergency plant conditions and take corrective action according to standards (BOP)
    • Isolate plant as required
    • Perform housekeeping with the team – focus on the area of responsibility, and ensure lime conveyor and dump area is cleaned regularly
    • Any other ad hoc requests from the Shift Superintendent / Production Manager

    Fitter - Umkomaas

    • We’re on the lookout for an experienced Fitter to provide mechanical services by identifying repair and replacement needs, installing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading mechanical systems and equipment, and ensuring tools and materials are available and maintained to ensure overall plant availability and equipment effectiveness.

    As a Fitter, you will be responsible for:

    • Fit, assemble, grind, and shape metal parts and sub-assemblies to maintain production machines and other equipment. Install, test, connect, commission, and modify mechanical equipment
    • Perform plant maintenance and remedial work according to SAP notifications, work orders, and planned schedules, including during shuts. Complete notifications and work orders on the SAP system
    • Do fault-finding on systems during breakdowns and repair the problem to keep downtime to a minimum. Participate in failure analysis
    • Complete daily and weekly inspections on equipment according to a detailed checklist
    • Performs any other assigned tasks that fall within the scope of a Fitter
    • Understand and comply with the safety, health, environment, and quality (SHEQ) requirements of the Section
    • Participate in the investigation of SHEQ incidents on request and help to identify root causes for non-conformance. Correct any deviations that relate to mechanical maintenance
    • Maintain a high level of good housekeeping in the workplace at all times.

    What are we looking for?

    • Grade 12 and N2 Engineering while N3 Engineering would be preferred
    • Recognised Trade Test Certificate as a Mechanical Fitter
    • 2 years post-apprenticeship experience in a heavy engineering environment will be advantageous

    Electrician (Pulping) - Umkomaas

    Instrument Mechanician: Shift - Umkomaas

    • We’re on the lookout for an experienced Instrument Mechanician (Shift) to provide an instrumentation service within the mill in response to breakdowns, safely performing instrument maintenance repair tasks to ensure increased plant availability and minimized downtime.

    As an Instrument Mechanician (Shift), you will be responsible for:

    • Complete fault finding on instrument systems during the breakdown, using knowledge of field instruments, drawings, plant layout, plant processes, and procedures to resolve and prevent further delays
    • Recommend appropriate preventative action based on the fault identified and advise of repair work needed to resolve the identified fault
    • Repair, install, test, connect, maintain, and modify instrument equipment as required
    • Perform all required calibrations according to the standard work instructions and complete calibration sheets
    • Converts notifications in SAP to work orders, captures failure codes and repair codes on the notification, and completes the order once work is completed
    • Understand and comply with the safety. health, environment, and quality (SHEQ) requirements of the section
    • Comply and perform tasks as per the organisation's policies, procedures, and best operating practices
    • Participate in investigations of SHEQ incidents on request and help to identify root causes for non-conformance. Correct any deviations that relate to instrument maintenance
    • Maintain a high level of good housekeeping in the workplace at all times
    • Adhere to required safety and quality standards and procedures

    What are we looking for?

    • Grade 12 with an N3 Engineering coupled with a recognised Instrumentation trade test

    Raw Materials Buyer - Umkomaas

    • We’re on the lookout for an experienced Raw Material Buyer to ensure a smooth transactional process of purchasing goods and services for multiple mills as governed by the procurement policy and/or sourcing strategies.

    As a Raw Material Buyer, you will be responsible for:

    • Ensure that all materials and services are sourced and procured according to specification, in accordance with the procurement policy, and as detailed in the sourcing strategy
    • Category Management support and information assistance to be given to Commodity and Sourcing Managers
    • Ensure that quality control procedures are implemented and adhered to by the suppliers.  Certificates of conformance are to be supplied where required
    • Negotiate supplier payment terms unless already negotiated by Commodity or Sourcing Managers and negotiate the pricing of raw materials
    • Liaise with Stores & Production constantly and advise Production of any exceptions that may be necessary for the delivery of the product
    • Assist with achieving functional PIP objectives
    • Plan and schedule production stock and ensure effective supply chain management of raw materials and secondary packaging to fulfill orders and maintain re-order levels. Monitor slow-moving stocks
    • Ensure that contract and consignment stock are updated on the SAP system
    • Implement and/or follow effective expediting procedures and monitor
    • Monitor and control all warehouse operations

    What are we looking for?

    • Bachelor's degree/Diploma/NQF Level 5-6 in Supply Chain/Procurement or relevant field
    • A minimum of 3 - 5 years experience in an Industrial, Procurement, or Materials Management environment
    • SAP MM experience
    • Experience in the technical and/or manufacturing environment would be an added advantage

    Fitter - Neslpruit

    • We’re on the lookout for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to safely perform maintenance tasks to ensure long-term plant reliability, thereby contributing to the overall equipment effectiveness.

    As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for:

    • Mechanical maintenance in the Plant, with knowledge of mechanical equipment, including, but not limited to, gearboxes, pumps, screens, bearings, and chains drives

    • Draw spares from stores utilising SAP as required by the task being performed

    • Maintain a high level of housekeeping in the workplace and workshop at all times

    • We’re on the lookout for an Assistant: Copeland to ensure plant equipment is operated according to best operating practices, to maximise productivity and is maintained and repaired to acceptable standards to maximise availability and efficiency.

    As an Assistant: Copeland, you will be responsible for: 

    • Assisting in stacking charcoal, filling charcoal into charcoal bin and feeding charcoal into reactor when required
    • Making sure Soda Ash truck is correctly loaded and the weight of the truck is within the limit and is recorded properly in the book

    • Bagging spilled soda ash into one tonne bags

    What are we looking for?

    • Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent
    • N1 Pulp and Paper or NCV Level 2

    Commodity Specialist - Ngodwana
