- The successful incumbent will be responsible for identifying and providing high-quality prospect information to support the Executive and staff involved in fundraising, communication, marketing, and relationship development while maintaining accurate pipeline data ensuring that information provided to the fundraising team is thorough and well-communicated so as to inform strategic decision making.

List of main tasks:

- The successful Coordinator: Alumni Relations (Legacy and Bequest) will position the university, its accomplishments and needs in the minds of the institution’s Alumni in a variety of ways that will primarily focus on fundraising. The Coordinator will utilize electronic and print communications local and regional events aligned with divisional and institutional strategic goals, to cultivate Alumni and individuals with the view of securing their financial or other support, executed under the banner of Institutional Advancement.

- Fundraising and Donor Relations secures and manages private philanthropic donations from individuals, corporates, trusts and foundations. We engage donors on academic, research and other institutional needs that align with the donors funding priorities. - The role of the Human Resources Department is to support the University’s People Strategy which presents challenging people deliverables in relation to change and transformation projects and strategies. Transformational leadership is required from all at the University, and the role of HR is both to enable and facilitate processes for continuous improvement.
- Reporting to the Manager: Employee Relations (ER) & Staff Wellness, the Administrative Officer provides proactive administrative assistance and support to the Employee Relations and Wellness unit.
Amongst others, key duties and responsibilities will include:
- Supporting and coordinating all administrative functions;
- Logistical arrangements for all ER and staff wellness administrative initiatives and meetings;
- Drafting, tracking and submission of documents;
- Liaise with service providers and vendors to ensure sufficient service delivery in respect of ER and staff wellness processes;

- A Senior Certificate plus an appropriate tertiary qualification (at NQF level 6). A qualification in employee relations would be advantageous;
- At least 3 years proven administration experience with Employee Relations/Human Resources environment;
- Demonstrated communicative, organisational and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure, and to adhere to and meet strict deadlines;
- Ability to work without supervision and to pay attention to detail.
