    Supervisor: Marketing Intelligence - JHB

    Description

    • The incumbent would be required to oversee the team of Marketing Intelligence Specialists who are responsible for supporting the sales teams by arming with media consumption information and facts and providing go to market presentations for them to go out and sell airtime.

    Team Supervision, Performance and Development

    • Planning, scheduling, coordinating and supervising subordinate activities to ensure efficiency and achievement of goals. 
    • Participating in people development initiatives such as performance management, succession planning and talent management to ensure team performance meet the required standards. 
    • Facilitating new hire induction and training.
    • Assessing team development needs and close gaps.
    • Coaching subordinates by explaining how and what must be done to ensure appropriate team development.
    • To train and educate the sales teams with media industry information with regards to viewing behaviour and viewing patterns, trended competitor analysis and all information that is relevant pertaining to TV viewing.

    Research 

    • Understanding research and analysing data using specialist industry resources.
    • Receiving, understanding, analysing and making industry research available to relevant Sales staff and presenting findings to relevant stakeholders.
    • Evaluating effectiveness of campaigns in order to inform future campaigns.
    • Monitoring, tracking and analysing all competitor activity.
    • Identifying target audience/s and analysing their characteristics, behavior and media habits.

    Monitor Marketing Intelligence

    • Supply competitor information, media landscape, audience insights, and brand insights information to Sales Department and to relevant internal stakeholders in order to retain and grow business.
    • Compile and submit reports to the Chief Commercial Officer, Group Head of Sales and other reports that may be required from time to time.
    • Proactively identify trends that may affect current or potential revenue streams across channels.
    • Prepare and submit media landscape updates to relevant internal stakeholders.
    • Determine market trends and analysis.
    • Provide input to marketing strategy.
    • Client Liaison 
    • Managing Account Executive (AE) and client/agency relationships to build respect and trust in your judgment.
    • Attending client/agency meetings, with AE’s.
    • Attending external meetings such as BRC, Telmar, and The Nielsen Company.

    Requirements

    Qualifications

    • National Senior Certificate - Essential
    • 3-year National Diploma in Marketing / Media / Research - Essential
    • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing / Media / Research - Recommended

    Experience

    • 5 - 8 years in Media Research and Planning - Essential
    • 1 year in Supervisory role within Media Research and Planning - Essential

    Technical Director - JHB North

    Description

    • The incumbent would be responsible for directing and vision mixing live and pre-recorded studio productions and outside broadcast.

    Directing

    • Ensuring equipment is ready and technical checks are completed.
    • Ensure that programs conform to eMedia policies and regulations.
    • Operate equipment to produce programs or broadcast live programs from remote location.
    • Liaise with Technical Operations Management in order to formulate and maintain standard operating procedures.
    • Act as liaison between Engineering and Technical Operations to report equipment failure.
    • Responding to equipment failure and finding work around solutions.
    • Assist with training the crew when using equipment such as switches, cameras, monitors, microphones, lighting etc.
    • Planning and blocking of content for final output.

    Vision Mixing

    • Check desk to see if everything is working and all relevant elements is loaded for production, if any irregularity is found report to Engineering.
    • Ensure upskilling and development in vision mixing standards and requirements bi-annually.
    • Select required images and ensure a smooth transition between shots which involves ‘cutting’, ‘mixing’ and ‘wiping’.
    • Monitor different media/visual sources, i.e. pictures from several cameras, digital video effects, and graphics and outside broadcast materials.
    • Ensure vision mixing follows correct broadcast standards.
    • Ensure that all the key elements i.e. crawlers and lower thirds units are setup correctly.
    • Setup DVE elements as per production/show requirements.

    Managing

    • Manage the Technical Crew during live and pe-recorded productions.
    • Manage Freelance staff during live and pre-recorded productions.
    • Ensure that the Crew maintains safe and responsible handling of the equipment.

    Requirements

    Digital Commercial Content Producer

    Description

    • The incumbent would be required to plan, execute and report on commercial campaigns for clients and partners on the organisation's social media and digital platforms.

    • These are to be approved by the Digital Manager.

    Reporting and performance measurement

    • Ensure that campaign performance reports are generated and within the required turnaround period.

    Prize winner communication and management

    • Engage with finalists and prize winners for station competitions and manage the issuing/payment of prizes.
