    Health, Safety and Environmental Officer

    Description

    • The HSE Officer supports sites to achieve HSE compliance and maintain optimal Health, Environment and Safety standards. The incumbent conducts site inspections and audits and monitors sub-contractor compliance. The HSE Officer ensures legislative and system compliance, identifies, and mitigates risk and contributes to maintaining ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 certification.

    Requirements

    Key Performance Areas

    • Implements the HSE elements of the Business Operating System (BOS) 
    • Supports site team and department in maintaining HSE compliance
    • Assesses and approves contractor HSE Documentation
    • Draft and implement task specific risk management documentation
    • Conduct site inductions and assist with training
    • Case management of incidents
    • Acts as an expert advisor on HSE related matters
    • Mitigates and manages risks

    Academic Qualification

    • SAMTRAC / NEBOSH Certificate
    • Incident Investigator Certificate
    • HIRA Certificate

    Years of Experience

    • 5 years plus in a Construction Building Environment (not Civils)

    Professional Registration and Statutory appointment

    • SACPCMP registration as a CHSO 

    Key Relationships

    • Client and Professional teams 
    • Internal customers
    • Project based staff
    • Voluntary associations: MBA, ACHASM, SAIOSH

    Role specific Demands

    • Ability to work under pressure
    • Managing upwards 
    • Own transport 
    • Working away from home on far sites
    • Weekend work as and when project requires it
    • Knowledge of Sharepoint is required

    Description

    Requirements

    Academic Qualification 

    • Quantity Surveying Tertiary Degree / Diploma

    • 7 Years or more as a QS

    • SA Council for the Quantity Surveying Professionals

    Junior Quantity Surveyor

    Description

    • The Junior Quantity Surveyor, under the supervision of the senior QS's, is responsible for monitoring financial and commercial aspects of contracts and detecting variances in costing with a view to maximizing profit within the contract condition parameters. The incumbent safeguards the company's position relative to contractual rights, supports other specialists in the department and monitors sub-contractor productivity.  The Junior QS ensures statutory compliance and that company procedures and systems are being adhered to.

    Assistant Accountant

    Description

    • The Assistant Accountant assists the Accountant or FM with providing financial accounting services in the regional business unit, applying accounting principles to analyse financial information and prepare financial reports. The incumbents assist with project cost controls, standardising accounting procedures and collects, organises and analyses financial information for financial reporting and business analytics, as specified by the Accountant/FM.
