MAIN FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

• Data Centre Maintenance and operations (Various sites - JB1; JB2: JB3; JB4: DB1)
• Ensure that effective maintenance systems are in place for all electrical machinery in order to ensure compliance to the Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993, and supportive of the Health & Safety Management Program, ISO 27001:2013, ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 50001:2018 Standards.
• Monitor and audit compliance with the above systems 
• Appoint GMR 2.7 appointees for sites within area of control 
• Propose and develop enhanced maintenance systems in order to predict failures and support cost-effective solutions to achieve 99.999% electrical uptime and 99.99% mechanical uptime
• Participate in the Root Cause Analysis of equipment failures 
• Assist with the provision of safe systems of works on MOP’s SOP’s and EOP’s to minimize risk to personnel and equipment and that support the Health & Safety Management Program, ISO 27001:2013, ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 50001:2018 Standards
• Review and approve all maintenance and system testing strategies and schedules for high risk maintenance activities with regards to the safe operation and configuration of the machinery, with particular emphasis on HV and MV switching. 

Energy Management System

• Participate as a management representative in the energy management team
• Conduct internal and external audits Energy Management audits. 

Training and development

• Develop training strategies to improve skills of the Data Centre teams with regards to operation and maintenance. 
• Coach and Mentor potential future candidates for GMR 2.1 and GMR 2.7 positions and develop succession plans 
• Support the development of the Teraco Training Academy and provide support in the selection of candidates and the training thereof.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Electrical qualification
• Government Certificate of Competency (Factories) 
• Minimum 3 years relevant experience post GCC in the operation and maintenance of critical infrastructure on 24/7 operations 
• OHVRS 
• CDCFOM
• Extensive knowledge on Data Centre critical infrastructure systems
• Experience of data centre infrastructure design knowledge

MAIN FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

Sales

• Develop a sales target and execution plan.
• Identify and establish relationships with key contacts.
• Communicate and educate client prospects about the Teraco value proposition and position this within the clients‘ sales engagement.
• Understand client positions in the greater Teraco ecosystem and communicate value to the Teraco business.
• Produce joint marketing opportunities and deliver content related to Teraco client opportunities (events, case studies, etc.)
• Support the Teraco operation in the daily dealings with clients.
• Achieve (and exceed) sales targets.
• Sales pipeline management and reporting.

Account planning and execution 

• Networking within the industry
• Identify new markets and business opportunities, threats, and competitor activity
• Communicate new prospects to the Teraco business  

Administration

• Maintaining CRM with client contact/activity details
• Negotiating any additional terms in the supply of services

Reporting and communication

• Building relationships throughout business levels to maximise depth of awareness of Teraco and create strategic relationships
• Personal performance review and reporting

Requirements

SKILLS REQUIREMENT

• An innate ability to understand unique industry requirements.
• Experience in ICT, specifically cloud, networks, and IT services.
• An established and proven network of contacts in the ICT industry with an understanding of the industry’s unique workings.
• Ability to identify and understand prospective client colocation needs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to communicate at all levels of the business, including at CIO/CTO, C-Suite, and board level.
• Excellent problem solving and organisational skills.
• Experience and understanding of RFP process.
• Strong negotiation skills and an ability to close deals.
• Ability to work independently and be a positive team player.
• Meticulous and analytical.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Matric qualifications and degree/diploma.
• Five or more years relevant sales experience.
• Advanced Microsoft Office and CRM system skills.
• Proven track record in closing large accounts.
• Experience in the ICT sector dealing with finance and enterprise markets.
• Solid understanding of general cloud concepts and application.
