Role Purpose:
The Debt Review Manager needs to ensure that dealings with registered Debt Counsellors are managed as per company and government regulations. The needs of the company must be balanced against those of the Debt Counsellors who present applications for special leniency in repayments from overdue clients. The regulatory processes of Debt Review must be mastered by the incumbent and company-wide implementation of these regulations is critical. The incumbent is accountable for a legal practice in the company. This role requires honesty in dealing with cash or finances.
- Ensures legislative compliance and alignment to group frameworks whilst fulfilling business objectives
- Ensures resourcing decisions are aligned to the Transformation Plan
- Develops, supports and manages best practice collections or recoveries process to achieve targets within legislated and agreed deadlines
- Manages and reports on relevant processes, using management information to guide best practice operational decisions
- Ensures customer excellence through interaction with internal and external customers throughout all business activities
- Manages the business processes for area of responsibility
- Implements performance management across the area of responsibility
- Participates in planned activities that are appropriate for own and staff development in area of responsibility
- Ensures customer service solutions are aligned to the operational business plan
- Manages and reports on cost usage that reflects delivery of planned work within agreed parameters
- Manages the required resources to enable business performance and achieve business objectives
- Researches, designs and implements best practice customer service solutions
- Manages and controls costs in area of responsibility
- Manages Service Level Agreements and contracts with internal and external stakeholders according to the procurement policy
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum Qualification - Bachelor Degree in Law or Commerce
- Preferred Qualification - Bachelor Degree in Law or Commerce
- Experience - Five to eight years in the legal, financial industry of which three years in a management capacity in collections Debt Review expertise preferred
