    Financial Reporting Accountant

    Job Purpose

    • Reporting to the Financial Reporting Manager, the successful incumbent will need to manage Mondi SA entities accounting function to ensure accurate, valid and complete reporting.

    Qualifications & Expertise

    • Essential: Chartered Accountant (SA)

    Job Experience

    • Must have completed SAICA training contract (Articles)
    • Minimum of 3 years post articles commercial experience
    • SAP and HFM experience will be an advantage
    • Microsoft packages, with advanced excel
    • Project management/controlling (Advantageous)
    • IFRS and technical research

    Key Performance Areas

    • Overall management of Mondi SA corporate entities accounting function to ensure accurate, valid and complete reporting
    • Prepare monthly variance analysis and waterfalls and complete commentaries
    • Responsible for completion of Group required Templates for Monthly, Interim and Year End reporting
    • Responsible for co-ordination and execution of IFRS compliant Reporting Packs for Interim and Year End
    • Oversee the transactional processing including share-based payments and post-retirement medical aid liability
    • Review month end recons
    • Prepare and review specific balance sheet quarterly forecasts and annual budgets
    • Overall management of data submission to Group from SAP close to HFM
    • Provide training on technical updates
    • Prepare management reports and support with Board packs
    • Provide support on continuous improvement projects
    • Manage 1 direct report responsible for financial accounting
    • Provide technical IFRS and group policy support to the business
    • Manage and coordinate the AFS drafting and ensure completion of IFRS compliant Annual Financial Statements
    • Responsible for specific external audit deliverables
    • Support Controlling team on key projects and tasks
    • Provide support to Management on ad hoc queries and projects

    Project Area Manager

    Job Purpose:

    • Reporting to the Head of Capex, the successful incumbent will need to manage projects from start to end across the business. The role will require expertise in the creation of Business Cases, Project Budgets and cashflows, Project Plans, and associated project materials. Will also be responsible for project pre – engineering.

    Qualifications & Expertise:

    • B Sc (Eng) or other equivalent 4-year engineering degree (Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical)
    • 1-year minimum advanced certificate/diploma in project management would be advantageous
    • Pr Eng (Professional Engineer) registration with ECSA (Engineering Council of SA) or eligible would be advantageous
    • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification with PMI (Project Management Institute) or eligible would be advantageous

    Job Experience:

    • 5 - 7 years Project Management experience in an industrial environment, 5 years of which have been in a leadership role
    • Experience within the Pulp & Paper industry will be beneficial
    • Must have expert understanding of Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) Disciplines (Integration, Scope, Time, Quality, Cost, Human Resources, Communications, Risk Management, Procurement)
    • Must have experience creating Business Cases, Project Budgets, pre- engineering and cashflows, Project Plans, and associated project materials
    • Must have experience in procurement (Contractual Law and negotiation)

    Key Performance Areas:

    • Ensures compliance with Safety, Health and Environmental policies and ensures legal compliance
    • Plans, develops and manages the short, medium and long term capital budget programme for the designated Plant area according to technical and capex strategy
    • Manages the Project area personnel ensuring optimal resourcing to provide the agreed deliverables and operated within the agreed financial constraints
    • Creates business cases, project budgets, cash flows, project plans and pre-engineering
    • Takes direct responsibility for project engineering and construction work within the designated plant area
    • Ensures that all statutory requirements for individual projects are identified and addressed
    • Monitors projects to ensure that they are completed within committed time, scope, quality and budget.
    • Manages capital budget and cashflow to ensure that they are maintained within agreed parameters
    • Directs and guides the activities of all area project personnel to ensure that projects are implemented successfully
    • Ensures alignment on commercial and contractual side with procurement, finance, legal and other stakeholders
    • Advises senior management about the area project portfolio status and maintains excellent communication with all stakeholders to ensure smooth running of all projects undertaken by team
    • Provides leadership, direction and coaching on project specific tasks as well as individual professional development to help team members achieve individual expectations and deliverables
    • Supports Group Engineering Standards, Processes and Procedures necessary to produce the deliverables from the team and to work effectively with the other teams
    • Provides technical assistance in identifying, evaluating and developing proposals in line with asset integrity and reliability that lead to improved cost competitiveness of MSA and meet good business practice
    • Takes ownership and delivery responsibility for special  and strategic projects
    • Ensures accurate reporting

    Fitter

    JOB PURPOSE:

    • Reporting to the Mechanical Foreman, the incumbent will be responsible for supporting the Power & Utilities Department in their maintenance strategy.  This person will assist in reducing down time thereby increasing machine and time efficiency.

    EDUCATION

    Essential     -  N3 + Trade Test (Fitter)
    Desirable     -  N6 Desirable

    JOB EXPERIENCE

    • At least 5 years fitting experience 
    • Power Plant Experience will be advantageous

    RESPONSIBILITIES / KPAS:

    • Maintain and repair Power and Utilities plant equipment
    • Carry out routine, statutory and safety inspections and schedules
    • Support the line supervisor and team members to achieve plant KPI's
    • Work safely and according to the requisites of the OHS Act as well as Mondi Safety policies and procedures
    • Ensure all the mill Safety and Engineering standards are maintained
    • Conduct fault finding/Inspection of plant equipment.
    • Identify all unsafe conditions and bring to the attention of management

    Process Engineer

    Job Purpose:

    • Reporting into the Senior Process Engineer, the incumbent of this position will be required to develop systems and best practice for the operation of the mill and develop operating personnel towards improved efficiencies

    Qualifications & Expertise:

    • BSc Chemical Engineering Degree
    • Registration as a Professional Engineer will be advantageous

    Job Experience:

    • 3-5 years’ experience as a Process Engineer in an industrial / Pulp & Paper / Chlor Alkaline environment. Relevant project and rebuild experience
    • Excellent technical problem-solving abilities, with an active ‘hands on’ approach without dis-empowering operating staff
    • Proven leadership abilities
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills within a team environment
    • Ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure environment aligned to Mondi’s Safety Culture
    • Performs normal operational stand - by duties
    • Work with mill teams across all disciplines and organisation levels to improve mill efficiencies and outputs

    Key Performance Areas:

    • Process development and optimisation.
    • Manage projects from inception to implementation.
    • High level troubleshooting.
    • Process documentation
    • Mass and energy balances
    • Conceptualisation of processes
    • Risk assessments and hazard analysis

    Job Competencies/ Attributes/Skills:

    • Computer literacy including SAP and PI Historian is essential
    • Excellent technical troubleshooting / problem solving skills
    • Computer literacy, particularly Microsoft applications (Excel, Powerpoint, Word as examples)
    • Good verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
    • Has attention to detail, delivers quality work within deadlines, proactive approach
    • Ability to work under minimum supervision and take personal initiatives to achieve goals
    • Must be computer literate with knowledge of MS Office
    • SAP knowledge is an advantage
    • Valid Driver’s License
