    Retail Operations Manager

    Overview

    We have an exciting opportunity to join the M&G Operations team as a Retail Operations Manager. We are looking for someone who is passionate about people and extends past call and query management to understanding and managing the client experience. The successful candidate needs to have a strong knowledge of the SA asset management industry, its legislation, products and have had exposure to Retail distribution.

    Key Responsibilities

    Retail Client Services:

    • Drive excellence in client service.
    • Stay abreast of market and industry changes relating to client experience.
    • Manage Multi-channel availability for clients (Facebook, Live chat, Email, Calls) within agreed SLA.
    • Management of Private client service offering
    • Management reporting of the function
    • Maintain and update Sugar CRM (includes driving enhancements, system upgrades and user testing)

    Administration workflow and Instruction Management:

    • Ensure the admin processes between the outsource service provider and M&G are effective, efficient and aligned to M&G’s strategic client experience goal
    • Monitor key performance indicators and trends and work with the outsource provider to improve processes.
    • Active participation in the service review meetings

    Ownership of Operational Compliance functions

    • Review FAIS compliance of advisors and resolve issues
    • Review FICA status of clients and resolve issues
    • Implement and manage suspicious transaction reporting

    Active participation in the change life cycle with internal and outsource service provider project teams.

    Business Development Manager - Pretoria

    Job description

    A vacancy has arisen for a Business Development Manager within the M&G Retail Sales Team. As a Retail Consultant at M&G, you will play a pivotal role in providing exceptional service to both advisers and clients within the Pretoria Region. While working from home, you will be responsible for managing and enhancing relationships with advisors and clients in the specified regions.  The ideal candidate will report to the National Sales Manager.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop and manage relationships with a panel of financial advisors and clients (e.g. IFAs, Wealth Managers, FoF Managers, LISP consultants, tied advisors and corporate/institutional clients);
    • Act as a primary point of contact for advisers in the Pretoria and surrounding region.
    • Provide training and support on our retail products and services.
    • Collaborate with advisers to understand their needs and tailor solutions accordingly.
    • Identify new business opportunities in Pretoria and surrounding region.

    With regards to the panel mentioned, to:

    • develop and implement a servicing strategy to promote M&G and M&G funds / products; ‘manage’ the flows / AUM in accordance with M&G’s business strategy.
    • ensure the investment decision-maker is kept informed and updated on M&G; conduct meetings / presentations to individuals as well as to groups.
    • assist clients (where necessary) with administration queries, information requests, etc. (in conjunction with the relevant departments within M&G)
    • take responsibility for the efficient co-ordination of regional events/ presentations (in conjunction with M&G’s marketing team) to this panel.
    • collate, update & manage a database of these advisors/clients.
    • Be up to date on all aspects of the Collective Investment & LISP industries – including the regulatory environment in which they operate.
    • Research, and be familiar with competitor products in the industry in order to position M&G’s funds/products appropriately with advisors/clients.
    • As part of their role, the consultant will also need to assist with ad-hoc presentations to various direct or other clients /prospective advisors / banks who request a spokesperson from M&G.

    Attributes Qualifications, Skills & Experience

    • An appropriate tertiary qualification (CFA / CFP advantageous)
    • At least 5 years’ experience in asset management/financial services industry.
    • An in-depth understanding of the investment market (economies, stocks, asset allocation etc.), as well as the CIS and LISP industries.
    • Knowledge of the Discretionary Fund Management industry and its relationship with advisors
    • A track record of selling across both traditional product lines, as well as into complex or illiquid products and offshore strategies.
    • Strong commercial acumen and business insight, with a good understanding of investment concepts

    Communications Manager

    Overview

    The M&G Investments Marketing Team is looking for a Communications Manager to join our fast-paced, industry-leading content team.

    Armed with skills in both traditional and new generation media, the successful candidate will work with the Marketing Manager and key internal senior stakeholders to generate standout content for current and potential M&G investors, across both the institutional, corporate/ DFM and retail markets. This might range from hard-hitting portfolio management pieces, to industry thought-leadership, articles of interest to specific market segments like in the trustee space for example, or simpler personal finance articles posted across our extensive media, social and PR network.

    The candidate will need to have a strong writing and editing background, and a journalistic approach to research, interviewing our experts and clearly explaining their views and analysis to specific audiences.

    We’re looking for a writer with experience in financial services, asset management in particular, but will not discount writers who have proven skills across different financial services industries.

    Key Responsibilities

    • In conjunction with the Head of Marketing and Marketing Manager, develop a communications strategy to meet the marketing and business objectives of M&G.
    • Manage the Communications function with assistance from the Marketing Manager.
    • Develop standout content for a broad range of marketing and media requirements, including but not limited to, articles, infographics, video scripts, emailers and radio talking points.
    • Develop a monthly content plan that meets the objectives of the communications strategy.
    • Ensure high standards of language and a consistent tonality throughout all communications in line with brand guidelines.
    • Work with internal as well as external communications partners in developing content for various channels.
    • Assist with the content development for email campaigns based on segmentation of client base; measure results and help optimise messaging and distribution.

    • Assists with ensuring the website is kept fresh, up-to-date and interesting via the CMS system, with any support needed internally or from external agencies.

    • Research and monitor M&G’s brand health performance and the impact of communication, identifying trends, insights and areas for improvement using the software we have available.
    • Report on M&G’s media presence with assistance from media monitoring agencies for internal committees and boards.

    • Marketing or journalism qualification in conjunction with Economics/ Investment Management qualification.

    IT Operations Manager

    Overview

    IT Operations Manager Opportunity! Join M&Gs IT (Information Technology) Team where you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the IT operations function for a rapidly evolving company.  The IT Operations Manager will under general direction manage team members within the IT Operations Team and is responsible for managing M&G’s IT systems and IT operational activities.

    Key Responsibilities

    Control Assurance Specialist

    A role has arisen for a Control Assurance Specialist who will report directly to the Control Assurance Manager.

    • Consider the risk management process outcomes (risk and control assessment, key risk indicators, feedback from Management) to assess areas of process and control improvements

    • Engage with ISAE3402 service provider and Management across the organisation to co-ordinate the delivery of control effectiveness testing across the business
    • Provide challenge and oversight into the ISAE review process with regards to updates to processes and controls
    • Engage with Management and the ISAE3402 service provider to facilitate workshops, walkthroughs, status update meetings, and report sign off
    • Internal Audit Reviews
    • Facilitate business readiness reviews and engage with Management to assist in internal audit reviews
    • Assist with the facilitation of internal audit reviews and provide input into draft report observations
    • Follow up on review findings and engage with the business to ensure that findings are closed out in a timeous manner.

    Senior Compliance Analyst

    Overview

    We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented individual to join our Cape Town based Compliance team as a Senior Compliance Analyst.

    Ensure the implementation and maintenance of processes and procedures to implement the Compliance Framework across M&G Southern Africa. These activities will include inter alia:

    • Review of Regulatory investment limits and Mandates.
    • Coding and testing applicable rules within the order management system (CRIMS).
    • Pre- and Post-Trade Investment Mandate monitoring and related breach investigation and reporting.
    • Perform monitoring related to legislative and policy requirements, including inter alia
      • Personal Account Trading.
      • Conflicts of Interest, including Gifts & Entertainment.
    • Trading activities (e.g. Best Execution, Segregation of duties, etc.).

    • Support business by collaborating with Compliance, Legal and other areas of the business, on new and/or amended Primary legislation, and subsequent implementation thereof.
    • Facilitate training and awareness relating to compliance policies.
    • Assist in providing responses to queries received from various stakeholders, including clients, regulators, auditors.
    • Compile and provide input into reports for submission to the Regulators, Compliance Officer, Exco and/or Boards.
    • Assist the Compliance Officer in achieving the activities as contained in the Annual Compliance Plan.
