    Senior Professional Officer (OPM)

    Requirements

    • Relevant BTech or first degree
    • Five (5) years’ relevant experience with a focus in business planning, public management, finance, performance management or monitoring and evaluation
    • CA (SA) registration will be advantageous
    • Ability to think analytically and work with figures and systems
    • Computer proficiency in MS Office Suite

    Key Performance Areas

    • Coordinate and facilitate the research and development of integrated performance management
    • Coordinate and project manage the development process of the five-year corporate scorecard to enhance and evaluate the Integrated Development Plan (IDP)
    • Ensure development of a manual, a business planning system and building organisational capacity to complete the Directorate executive summaries, business plans and SDBIPs throughout the organisation
    • Quality review and align directorate and departmental SDBIPs to the IDP
    • Monitor relevant national and provincial legislation and policies that have implications for the IDP, business planning and performance management
    • Develop training material for all related products and facilitate the training of all stakeholders

    Head: Project & Implementation

    Requirements

    • BSc / B. Eng Degree (Civil)
    • 8 years and above relevant experience in Project Management at senior level in a water field.
    • Pr Eng.(Professional Registration) or eligible to register as a professional engineer
    • Detailed knowledge of wastewater treatment design principles and implementation
    • A proven track record at managing complex engineering projects
    • Knowledge of relevant / applicable local authority legislation, regulations and policies
    • Detailed knowledge of capital works budgeting and cost control
    • Valid EB (08) Driver’s Licence

    Key Performance Areas

    • Manage and supervise a team of multidisciplinary professional and technical staff involved in project management with forward planning by achieving implementation of various wastewater treatment process facilities within budget and time frames so as to avoid any potential risk to communities health or the natural environment from sewage contamination
    • Manage the allocation of projects to subordinates and exercise supervision, direct and Control outcomes associated with utilization, productivity and performance of personnel within the infrastructure & Project Section of the Wastewater Branch
    • Prepares capital and operating impact within a planned project and manage and control expenditure against the approved budget allocations
    • Prepares engineering designs, specifications and drawings, and manage multi-disciplinary project teams for investigations, scoping, feasibility studies, designs, Project Management, contract management, contract administration, construction, supervision, commissioning and hand over of major/minor infrastructure, upgrades of present infrastructure and operational driven technical projects
    • Provide engineering guidance, maintain technical standards and infrastructure
    • Disseminate functional, planning project implementation and operational information on the immediate, short and long term wastewater initiatives, objection, problems and constraints
    • Assume responsibility for the management of projects, operational staff and contractors
    • Ensure correct and efficient written communication with internal and external parties

    Manager: Waste Water Treatment

    Requirements

    • A relevant BSc / B.Eng degree in Engineering
    • An additional qualification in management will be an advantage
    • 8 years’ experience in wastewater treatment at a senior management level
    • Pr Eng.(Professional Registration) or eligible to register as a professional engineer
    • Specialist knowledge in wastewater treatment process designs and operations involving large Wastewater Treatment Plants
    • A proven track record at managing complex engineering projects

    Requirements

    • Relevant B Degree, namely in Commerce, Legal, Engineering or other relevant to operations/directorate business area

    Professional Officer - Coastal Management

    Requirements

    • A relevant B degree or First Degree (BSc Honours, Natural Sciences, e.g., Coastal management, Environmental Management, Conservation, ecological restoration and management, Botany, Zoology, Marine Biology or similar)

    Professional Officer Area Economic Development

    Requirements

    • A BTech or first degree (preferable in economic development and urban management)
    • Three to five years’ relevant experience in the specialist professional functions related to the informal, local area economic development, urban management and implementation of projects and programmes. ( see KPA’s)

    Requirements
