    Communication Coordinator

    Job Advert Summary    

    • An exciting opportunity has become available for a Communication Coordinator to join our team at Boxer Superstores.
    • We are looking for a creative and curious communicator with a passion for writing, storytelling and journalism. This role will support Boxer's internal and external communication requirements, helping to craft compelling stories, share important business messages and positively elevate the Boxer brand.
    • The successful candidate will work across various areas of the business and engage with both internal and external stakeholders to develop clear, engaging and relevant communications.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • A Degree or Diploma in Journalism, Media/Communications or a related field.
    • A relevant Bachelor of Administration qualification will also be considered.
    • Public Relations courses or qualifications would be advantageous.
    • A minimum of 2 years' journalism and/or professional writing experience.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to speak and write in at least two vernacular languages.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

    Duties and Responsibilities    
    Internal Communications

    • Develop engaging internal communication content, including newsletters, business updates and important staff messaging.
    • Identify and investigate relevant stories from across the business.
    • Craft compelling internal narratives that reflect Boxer's brand, values and culture.
    • Support initiatives aimed at strengthening employee awareness and engagement.

    External Communications

    • Assist with drafting press releases, PR notifications and other external communications.
    • Support communications relating to suppliers, brands, government organisations, investors and other external stakeholders.
    • Assist with communication requirements during crisis or reputation-sensitive situations.
    • Contribute towards building positive brand awareness through clear and effective communication.

    Creative Project Support

    • Provide writing and communication support for creative projects across the business.
    • Work collaboratively with various departments to understand their communication requirements and translate these into engaging content.
    • Assist with multiple communication and creative projects simultaneously

    SHEQ Clerk - Benoni DC

    Job Advert Summary    

    • An exciting opportunity has become available at our Benoni Distribution Centre.
    • The purpose of this role is to provide administrative and operational support in maintaining a safe, compliant, and well-maintained Distribution Centre by coordinating facilities maintenance, SHEQ compliance, contractor management, quality inspections, and related administrative processes.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Matric (NQF Level 4)
    • Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety, Food Safety, Safety Management, or Office Administration advantageous
    • 1–3 years’ experience in a maintenance, facilities, compliance, or SHEQ environment
    • Warehouse, Distribution Centre, or FMCG experience advantageous
    • Computer literate in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
    • Knowledge of OHS legislation and food safety standards
    • Basic understanding of building maintenance and facilities management
    • Strong administrative and organisational skills
    • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability
    • Good verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to work rotational day and night shifts

    Duties and Responsibilities    
    Key Responsibilities

    • Support building and facility maintenance activities
    • Conduct OHS, food safety, and facility inspections
    • Perform quality inspections on inbound and outbound products and processes
    • Coordinate contractor compliance and safety requirements
    • Assist with OHS and food safety awareness initiatives
    • Maintain SHEQ records, registers, and compliance documentation
    • Support incident reporting, investigations, and emergency response coordination

    Key Duties

    • Coordinate and track maintenance requests and contractor activities
    • Conduct facility inspections and report maintenance defects
    • Monitor compliance with OHS, food safety, PPE, and safety requirements
    • Complete inspection checklists and capture findings on relevant systems
    • Maintain safety files, permits, certificates, registers, and audit records
    • Perform quality checks on incoming, outgoing, and returned stock
    • Identify and report damaged, expired, contaminated, or non-compliant products

    Facility Manager - Tongaat, KZN

    Purpose of the Role:

    • The DC Facility Manager will oversee the daily operations, maintenance, and overall management of the Distribution Centre facility. This includes ensuring the site is safe, secure, efficient, and compliant with all regulatory and operational standards. You will be responsible for managing critical systems, coordinating safety and security operations, optimizing space usage, and ensuring the smooth running of the facility.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Grade 12
    • 3 year degree in facilities management, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
    • 3-5 years relevant experience preferably in a distribution or logistics environment (Essential).
    • Strong knowledge of safety regulations, building costs and maintenance costs.
    • Proven ability to manage budgets and negotiate with vendors.
    • Excellent leadership, organisational and problem solving skills.

    Duties and Responsibilities    

    DC Maintenance & Facility Management:

    • Manage the upkeep of critical systems such as generators, firefighting equipment, roller doors, dock levelers, plumbing, electric fences, cameras, and DC fleet.
    • Ensure the site’s infrastructure is well-maintained, including warehouse barriers, racking, air conditioning units, and other key facilities.
    • Conduct regular inspections, prioritize maintenance issues, and work on cost-effective solutions.
    • Oversee space planning and optimization to ensure the facility runs efficiently.

    Safety & Security Management:

    • Oversee the daily operation of safety and security protocols to protect the warehouse, assets, and staff.
    • Monitor and review CCTV footage, investigate incidents, and manage suspicious behavior reports.
    • Collaborate with security teams, report on incidents, and compile regular reports from the security occurrence book (OB).
    • Ensure compliance with Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) standards, ensuring a safe working environment.
    • Coordinate crisis management activities when necessary.

    Vendor & Contract Management:

    • Manage relationships with external contractors and vendors for facility-related services.
    • Negotiate contracts and manage budgets related to facility maintenance and operations.

    Budgeting & Cost Management:

    • Ensure efficient management of maintenance costs and overall facility expenses.
    • Develop and monitor budgets, ensuring costs remain within the approved limits.
    • Track maintenance spending and identify cost-saving opportunities.

    Team Leadership & Development:

    • Lead and develop the maintenance and security teams, ensuring they have the skills and resources to perform their roles effectively.
    • Ensure continuous training and development of team members to stay updated on best practices in maintenance, safety, and security
